Big Game James - Now 13.6% win rate in these games…

By the way - top five teams over the last five years have won 90. 4% of their games. So teams on average win 9.3% of the time against top five teams so Franklin is doing a little better than average in "these kind of games" if you want to get picky about it.

Well, actually the stat in the thread title is his record against top 10 teams. If you want to narrow it to top 5 matchups, then Franklin is at a 6.67% win rate, which is below average. And that’s a crazy stat, because it means that his record is worse than any regular old team that happens, by chance, to knock off a top 5 team by sheer luck.

OK, I'll concede the point.

Over the last 3 seasons (I got lazy) teams that play against top ten teams win 11.3% of their games, so PSU with JF at 13.6% is pretty much at where "any regular old team that happens by chance to knock off a top five team" would be.

His percentage against teams outside of the top ten is much better, at least, but that's where we are at the moment. Do we keep letting him try to get over the hump, or do we try for someone new who might get the team to the promise land. I'd vote for the former, as JF has at least shown a willingness to redouble his efforts and to change things up with his staff and his schemes, something PSU never used to do. I can understand the other side, though.

PSU should do better than any regular old team.
