Breaking from Pennlive Curley and Shultz plead guilty.

What was Raykovitz told in 2001? How was Raykovitz in charge of safeguarding the University? Why are you not pissed at the damage CSS brought upon our great institution?

This is interesting to me - the question is why is JR not charged for 2001?
He was told as a mandated reporter and did nothing so why wasn't he charged?

do not deflect the answer to the university please

Me??? Talk to the fellows who drug out things for years and cop a plea. They delayed things , not some shadowy internet poster .

I saw a whole lot of promises on these boards that haven't come true . Did you hear that Curley and Schultz took a plea? I did. And I saw assurances that this would never happen.

Obsess less about a figment of your imagination, and focus on what is going on in the real world .

Remember the mountain of evidence you told everyone they had against C/S/S and Joe? What happened to that evidence, irondoc? Why weren't they all convicted on all those felonies if they had this mountain of evidence? Why did the state have to settle for misdemeanor pleas for C/S? Why did the state have to adopt a "hail mary" strategy to get Spanier?

Any that Bozo.

fair point...but by every account...though he did not use the word "rape" he certainly felt that was what was going on...yes?

Regardless...what would YOU have done in a similar situation?

I don't know he felt that was going on to this day. How in the hell do you know? If it was rape I know what I would do in terms of making a call. I'm not pretending to walk in his shoes or be some hero...go get him if you need to. People can hate on MM all they want to...Jerry caused all of this and you still have knobs on this site crying for him like he will get a new trial and the world will find out how PSU was done wrong. It's not happening, these two just pleaded out, and it seems like they will testify against GS in a few weeks. I get the anger, just not where it is directed all of the time.

he has testified for the state - you really can't be that naive can you.......................................

I will also add that I think harmon should be there with the admins. but that doesn't mean the admins didn't lie about their knowledge and actions. I have said many times their untruthful testimony back in 2011 is what allowed people like Harmon and others at TSM to skate.
Wait a minute... Harmon testified for the state? About what? Are you suggesting that Law enforcement knew, or did not know about the 2001 shower scene when it occurred?

Go ask your imaginary friend , he could talk to the other voices in your head.

Aside from that , there will be a trial and part of the evidence is testimony from two guys who took a plea . Witness testimony is evidence . Now why do you think they plead guilty to this ?
For fun? Or they realized there was evidence against them . You can toss this idea around with your imaginary friend and the other voices, see what they think.

Yes. In July, 2013. LINK (Pennlive).
Thank You. I had forgotten that.

Harmon is a real-life Barney Fife.
"Harmon stated that in that conversation Schultz never mentioned that there had been a new allegation concerning Sandusky.

“I would have remembered if he had ever suggested that there had been another incident,” the former chief said.

If there had been, Harmon testified, he would have seen to it that his officers contacted the Centre County District Attorney’s office “and pursue it as an investigation.”

Harmon said he would have done so because, given the 1998 incident, there would have been “sufficient suspicion” about child abuse."

The cross examination was effective too.

What was Raykovitz told in 2001/
He was told about an incident with Jerry & a child that was going to result in him not being permitted to bring Second Mile kids to campus facilities.
How was Raykovitz in charge of safeguarding the University?
His duty was to the law, and that duty was to report.
Why are you not pissed at the damage CSS brought upon our great institution?
I'm livid about the damage.

I haven't talked to Frank Sheran since saturday so I am not sure..... but just my opinion, there is no reason to offer a plea to Spanier now that Tim and Gary will testify against him. with all of the plea rumors for Tim and Gary going back to 2012 I have never heard Spanier mentioned in any of that.

LionLurker is the expert on the plea deals so maybe he will chime in................
You're a legend. FS is THE LEGEND.:D

he may not be "the" bad guy but he certainly played a part also in this don't you think?
Our boy from NEPA doesn't think, he just cackles. In fact, he gleefully posted here that a number of coaches and players were involved. Shame there are such malicious, spiteful people like that around.

Towny - you seem to be taking delight in this like it somehow validates Mike's inaction - is that what you think ?

Just askin

If you have read my posts going back to 2012 I have said that the admins lied to investigators and that it was Mike who gave forthright testimony. when have I ever mentioned trying to validate anything Mike did or didn't do that Friday night.

You probably just want to go there now that there is nothing else left to hang your hat on. If you want to blame Mike for the admins lying in 2011 then go for it if it helps you out but at least you will know the admins lied.

Think it's funny how you deny that you're the former irondoc. Shows how desperate you've become.

So the mountain of evidence against C/S/S and Joe that you claimed would get them all convicted on it's own never really existed?? That this "hail mary" strategy of turning C/S against Spanier is all the state really has left?? Sounds like the state is just as desperate as you are, irondoc.

maybe...but they were not convicted of lying to investigators. They did not plead guilty to conspiracy, lying, perjury.....so obviously you were wrong.

Not disagreeing with you. My point is that the whole "tainted jury" thing is not exclusive to PA.

agree...but clearly PSU and the BOT were caught with their pants down..did not know how to handle this crisis for the benefit of PSU certainly from any PR standpoint.

For example...and again the cases are different however really should not viewed differently..but look at how MSU is handling Nassar case...you can say that no one cares as much about MSU as they did or do about PSU...but I would also say their administration has been better prepared ...

Oh thats right...we named a building after Fraudney...hysterical...

So you're arguing semantics. Brilliant.

Gricar didn't prosecute because there was little to prosecute and due to Sandusky's stature in the community (hell, in the state), getting a conviction would have been impossible. It's really as simple as that.

No, I'm arguing that there was more that Gricar in 1998 than the OAG had in 2011about the same incident and that Gricar knew that he had enough to prosecute. He chose not to, if Sandusky "received help with the problem?"

To whom did he say **I won't prosecute if Sandusky receives help with the problem?**

Go ask him what he thinks if you're worried about what he thinks .
I think the trial will prove to be interesting and now the state has more evidence, the testimony of the two who took a plea. Add that in with the testimony of others and any other evidence such as communications like emails and then see what you think.
Spoiler alert , you don't see all the evidence until a trial , that's the way things work.

A misdemeanor, and especially no trial. A plea that was told of on Sunday before a Monday announcement. I believe that says a lot right there.

I have been attempting to contact a moderator about posting something. I want to make sure it is not a violation of TOS.

If you give me an address, I send you a copy first.

I can't imagine being an unmistakable 6'4 redhead, living in the same small nowhere town where I grew up, understanding everyone who sees me knows I am a complete coward. People I've known my entire life. That I didn't stop a child from being hurt when I had a direct chance to do so. That I didn't care enough about this child, or the subsequent ones, only about my career and my tidy little entitled existence. An abject coward. I just can't imagine.

whoa...I'm certainly not one of those defending Jerry...in the end...this ALL falls on that scum bag..hope he rots away sooner versus later.

BUT...just as some say C/S/S are guilty...you can"t say MM is not at blame here as well.

If he really thought...a violation of some kind was happening...and this is all he did...he does not require more scrutiny?

But I do agree...if there was no Sandusky...there would not be this fiasco...

Report what? In his grand jury testimony, Curley stated McQueary told him that Sandusky was "horsing around" with a kid in the shower. Hence he never told the head of TSM that a child was in danger. Clearly either Curley or McQueary lied. Only a few diehards believe Curley. Regardless, both men were life long Penn Staters. Stop trying to place the blame on an outsider.

Nope , it could have been handled that weekend. It should have been ending with an arrest of sandusky Monday at the latest. But they slow played things .

Again, wait for the trial.

Oh really? Please explain how JS would be arrested when the one and only witness never filed an official statement with UPPD. I'm pretty sure cops can't just arrest people without cause. They would first need the witness to go on the record, as opposed to having an informal side bar chat with the admin who oversees UPPD a week after the incident.

MM was so upset with Schultz for never sending someone from UPPD to get his statement that when TC called him 4 or 5 days later to follow up with PSU's action plan (confront Js, revoke guest privileges, inform tsm) MM expressed no dissatisfaction and never said MORE needed to be done.

JM was so furious with Schultz never sending anyone from UPPD to get MM's statement that when he had a face to face follow up chat with Schultz a few months later, he never expressed dissatisfaction. Hmmm somethings not adding up here....

Imagine MM's team needed time to plan.

Welcome to the McAndrew Board, DC. You'll find that there are many of us here who are trying to establish the truth in it's entirety. A truth that, by any objective measure, encompasses more than just Penn State.

Pro tip: You'll find out very quickly that if your goal is to cover for the Second Mile, that you won't have many friends here.

Did Mike know about 98 like the others? Since we don't know what he saw or really said for certain, it's hard to say exactly how culpable he is. Everyone including him is to a certain extent, but some of those did know more and did less. Again Jerry ruined countless lives and I wasn't saying that about you. It's a small handful that simply still wrap their head around what he did.

For the umpteenth time: it doesn't matter what Tim curly told the 2nd mile, they were obligated to look into any and all incidents no matter how benign, they were required to do this not only by internal policy but also state law. They failed to do that.
