Brody Teske - Flo Radio Live

Pretty sure everyone here, plus Willie, get that it's an ongoing joke and nothing more. Stale joke that's been run into the ground, sure, but just a joke.

In all seriousness, I've heard Willie does actually know when/where the Pletcher/Carton match will be and he has a curated list of who has teched Nico in the room.

I have concerns that bringing Teske aboard will affect McHenry, whom I view as a far superior recruit. Perhaps the coaches already know that McHenry isn't in play but otherwise this move is a bit confusing to me. I don't see Teske being on his level.

Well, okay, but there have been several such potential conflicts over the years. Did anyone really see Conaway at Nico's level? Rasheed at Hall's level? Nick Lee-Verk-Berge-Joe Lee, where does Manville fit, Teasdale-RBY-Busiello, etc.

The guys will work it out. And the top recruits very rarely think anyone is truly ahead of them.

From my earlier post in this thread:

"We can only speculate on whether or not landing Teske would have an impact on the recruitment of Kurt McHenry. But McHenry is a junior in HS this year, so the earliest he'll be wrestling in college is the 2019-20 season, and being that he wrestled 106 last year, he may need a RS year to try to bulk up."

PSU needs a legitimate 125 lber ASAP. Getting one in this class may make it more challenging to land McHenry, but it doesn't preclude PSU from recruiting and landing him (see the last several years of PSU wrestling recruiting for multiple examples). Teske may not be a Cadet champion, but he's pretty darn good.

Yeah, I watched that too. He was horsed a few times but I liked that he kept coming, unafraid to put himself in risky positions. A little sloppy but that's fine at his age. Great instincts and feel.

The below match is a better indicator of where he's at in folkstyle, a barn burner from this past December vs Bryce West who's going to wrestle at Northern Illinois. Teske in white singlet.

He spends a little too much time rolling around on his back for my taste.

Willie didnt break the news, CP did.

no way on earth the nugs came from PSU. My guess is the school(s) not getting visits now started b!tching about it and Flo got word. People say the crying on the boards is bad, but the whinning by coaches is worse, they just do it over texts and certainly in Ft Lauderdale.

Like it or not Flo is wrestling media, and their nugs are nothing compared to what we see from the football/basketball obsessed recruiting companies. I would also venture a guess they hear double digit nugs every day that they dont say.

if we get the #1 kid in iowa, I dont care what it costs. If we did it without his parents relocating, even better.

People of all walks want "inside info", getting it and talking about is an industry now. pretty hard to put that jeanie back in the bottle. Clicks pay its that simple. Content drives clicks. Content is manufactured. is what it is to me.
FYI, the coaches' convention was in Daytona this past year...coming from somebody who's been there nine straight years.

Teske nearly beat the 54KG rep Ryan Howard at Akron. All he had to do was tripod for 2 seconds and instead he tried to roll through. It was a baffling decision. He went on to beat Gabe Tagg and Comacho to place third. He's talented. 120 is going to be a great weight at Super 32. I could see either Teske or Busiello winning it, but it will be a challenge.

If Teske is coming, then welcome. Cael nows how to judge talent, character and potential better than anyone.

I thought Willie had indicated that Teske had cancelled the rest of his visits after visiting us?

It was CP who said he canceled his visits.

He said this at the outset of their Teske conversation: "He canceled all his visits, I am told.”

Later on, he said Teske canceling his visits was "definitely a surprise. He was going to visit Minnesota as well. He’s not visiting there. Iowa. I don’t know about Iowa State."

This over on HR. Those people are shameless. Posted by Hawkmd.

So he canceled Iowa but still went to ISU....:(
PSU told him if he visited Iowa his offer was no longer valid. He could still visit ISU.
smokey and the bandit did it much better

Add another conspiracy theory to their long list of conspiracy theories. They simply can't accept their current place in college wrestling. I wish that it was possible to send them a fruit basket, as a group, to help them through these tough times.

I just read that thread; some of those guys are out of their minds. They simply can't grasp the concept that Teske isn't interested in Iowa anymore and have resorted to crazy conjecture to rationalize why he isn't visiting.

It's that plus that his family is a "hawk family".....

Most over there are seemingly out of their minds. When a forum poster calling compliance offices around the country seems like "good work" things went wrong somewhere.

HR fans, Rutgers board fans. Just something about those perennial top-10 programs stuck where they are that just seems to drive them over the edge.

Yes. I agree Teske for the short term. BUT we MUST go really hard after McHenry. He will be a career 125 no doubt....Will wrestle 120 next year which will be his Sr year....He is a MAJOR STUD....

My favorite was the guy who said Brands is loyal about "you are my guy" and not recruiting over them (unlike "Karl), then carved out an exception for the Renteria/Mejia/Teasdale situation since those guys chose Iowa instead of Iowa choosing them..

Yeah, Brands didn't recruit Mejia or Renteria at all. Brands didn't recruit Lee and Teasdale over them. And Iowa fans were distraught at Lee + Teasdale possibly costing them Mejia + Renteria.

Of course that exception was not broad enough to cover "Bael" and Thomas Haines.

I do like Vak over there. He lit up Gobblin yesterday and damn near made me piss my pants.
