Brody Teske - Flo Radio Live

It was CP who said he canceled his visits.

He said this at the outset of their Teske conversation: "He canceled all his visits, I am told.”

Later on, he said Teske canceling his visits was "definitely a surprise. He was going to visit Minnesota as well. He’s not visiting there. Iowa. I don’t know about Iowa State."

Seems CP has been getting bad info from PSU again. Will never escape the wrath over challenging Redshirtgate 2015. Someone has a plan . . . and it's not just for PSU Wrestling.

My favorite was the guy who said Brands is loyal about "you are my guy" and not recruiting over them (unlike "Karl), then carved out an exception for the Renteria/Mejia/Teasdale situation since those guys chose Iowa instead of Iowa choosing them..

Yeah, Brands didn't recruit Mejia or Renteria at all. Brands didn't recruit Lee and Teasdale over them. And Iowa fans were distraught at Lee + Teasdale possibly costing them Mejia + Renteria.

Yea, that one had me shaking my head. Costello just got over recruited as well but I'm sure that doesn't count either.

Or bringing in Downey to displace Wilcke or Holloway.

Teske has long narrowed his choices to PSU and ISU (Iowa hasn't been in the running for some time imo). It seems crazy, but it is actually a touch easier to crack the PSU lineup at 125 early in his career imo. The money offer is much better at ISU and he can be close to home, have his primary supporters including yours truly front and center watching, and wrestle with lifelong friends. PSU offers a chance to be on the best team and to surround yourself with unbelievably successful wrestlers at nearly every other weight. It is a hard decision for the young man and his family. I will support him either way, and there really isn't a wrong choice.

Teske feels like a great fit for PSU. I love the way the kid goes after it. It's much easier to work with that as a coach, imo, and rein it in a little than to try to coach someone into being more aggressive in scoring attempts.

I forget which golf legend was asked whether he'd rather a young prospect hit long or accurate and without hesitating he said long, because you can refine their game for accuracy but you can't teach someone to drive the ball longer than they're capable of driving it. Somewhat similar here, easier to pull a guy back from his instincts than create instincts from whole cloth.

Sounds like we may hear something this week. From one of HR's more credible posters:

"I’m hearing Teske will be announcing this week. And he won’t be staying in state."
