8-7 early

Pickett missed twice but Lundy & Wynter have contributed.

Big negative is giving up offensive rebounds.

Giving up a ton of offensive rebounds leading to almost all of Illinois first 9 points. Wynter playing well. PSU up 12-9

Have to get some offense out of someone other than Lundy and Wynter…they have all the points.

Pickett hasn't found it yet. Didn't look good on his FTs. PSU has 27 pts but Pickett only has 1.

All but a couple of ILL pts are from offensive rebounds. That's gotta stop because we aren't going to shoot 57% all game.

Giving up too many offensive rebounds. Could have padded the lead but missed some shots and gave up some offensive rebounds. #42 for Illinois walks every time he makes a move.

Clary with some great drives to the basket.. not forcing shots and having good possessions almost every time down. PSU is really comfortable vs this Illinois team for some reason. Illinois is really talented though. They can make a big run at any time. Excellent start and we look extremely composed.

Going to be tough to win if we keep giving them two or more shots every time down the floor. Illinois is not shooting well, but they’re getting multiple attempts.

Why is that Illinois' ball? The guy slips and falls and throws it out of bounds with no one else touching it.

That was pretty horribly biased officiating
Then on the other end the defender hooked Pickett’s arm and banged his chest against him with no call, then they bump again, the defender flops and they call an offensive foul against Pickett. If we can’t stop the offensive rebounds and the scoring from the paint, we have little chance of winning.

Lundy was fouled on the drive possession before. Than the flop. Shrews is going to lose his mind.
I’ve seen a lot of bad calls this year, but nothing compared to the out of bounds call. They said it went off a Penn State player’s fingertip and there wasn’t a PSU player’s hand even in the air. No excuse for that call.

PSU only 1 FG in final 6 minutes. 10 pt lead is down to 1 pt at half.

Pickett needs to get going. 1-4 from the field, 1-2 from FT line. 2 turnovers.

Lundy is playing hard but dumb to force a shot instead of holding for last shot.

ILL 3-14 from 3 pt range. PSU 2-8.

ILL will likely shoot better in 2nd half. PSU HAS to do better.

PSU probably needs 24 2nd half points from Lundy/Funk/Wynter and 10 or 12 from Pickett.

We’ve got to hope Pickett gets going and Wynter stays hot.

It wasn't a bad half at all...would have been nice to have a bigger lead but we knew Illinois would make a run

Pickett is really struggling. I'm not sure how we win if he can't get going.

Henn & Njie each with 3 fouls. Will Dorsey play or will the just go small?

Make that 4 on Henn and now 3 on Pickett

DANGER TIME

No foul by Dread but gets called for it. Then he gets head butted on the celebration

Refs or not--we aren't playing well so far in the second half nor the last 5 minutes of the first half. Gotta shoot better regardless of the officiating.

Officials often call too many fouls underneath…this is getting ridiculous.

They're winning now--relax. It's not going to be easy--Illinois is good. There's no conspiracy. Enjoy a good game.

Just because we took the lead doesn’t mean we didn’t just temporary overcome an egregious set of terrible calls that put several players on the bench and changed our rotations.

Gotta shoot better regardless of the officiating.
That happens when you get good shots. The one play where Pickett got deep and kicked it out to Funk was a perfect example. Can't expect to shoot as well on step back 3s.

Pickett is short on everything. Just doesn’t have his legs under him so all of his minutes have definitely caught up to him
