BTT vs ILL

I guess because Texas and UCLA are so highly ranked that the Quad 1 wins they have vs both of them counts like 3 quad 1 wins for them or whatever. I agree, we beat them 3 times and have the same record. If this was football we would be higher ranked than them.
They also have such a "clean" resume...their worst loss of the year was to us at home, and second worst loss of the year was last night's game. We'll likely have 4 losses to teams that don't make the field, and they'll have zero.

Right and you adapt/adjust...failure to do so is on the players and coaches. You realize you're proving my point.

You've also yet to acknowledge you were wrong when you said I was the only one that mentioned a conspiracy but why would you ever own something.
Your point was that officiating was irrelevant to a game….being forced to adapt/adjust due to the officiating is the exact opposite of your point….you get that, right?

And I was not wrong about you being the only one that mentioned conspiracy because you were the only one. You posted one person who said the game was fixed, which isn’t the same as a conspiracy. Every other poster complaining about the calls didn’t mention anything close to a conspiracy, so you’re wrong again. When the NBA official got busted for fixing games, was the whole NBA in on it? Because that would have been a conspiracy.

I thought you said the refs were almost always irrelevant? then why would you need to adapt/adjust if they are almost always irrelevant? Maybe just maybe they do influence the outcome of games once in a while - ya think?
Because both teams have to adjust and adapt throughout the game. Like baseball and strike zones. You always have the ability to make the refs irrelevant

Not the opposite. Adapting is part of coaching and the game.

A fix is a conspiracy. People crying the refs are against us. It's always the Big Ten is out to screw us.

I went and read the Illinois board….they were even saying PSU was getting screwed all game. When the message board posters of the other team see it, you know it’s bad.
Yep. This quote is somewhat typical for their in-game thread. Well, the thread started with them complaining but turned around soon enough.

"Penn State is getting completely hosed by the refs. I like it"

To have to adjust and adapt throughout the game to something is the literal definition of something that is relevant.

If it was irrelevant you could just ignore it all game.

Adapting due to officiating is certainly relevant to the game.

A fix is not a conspiracy, it’s a fix that could be done by one person…that doesn’t equate to a conspiracy. Just as a bias against certain teams by officials is not a conspiracy, it’s a bias. It’s possible to criticize officiating without feeling there’s a conspiracy.

So teams don't always have to adapt and adjust throughout a game?

A fix is a conspiracy theory. When an individual believes the refs are "out to get Penn State" and the Big Ten is against us and is punishing for our success in football when we first joined the conference they're talking about a conspiracy theory.

You're not stupid--don't play stupid and pretend there isn't a lot of people on this board that believe there Big Ten is out to get us. Claim bias, claim fix--it's a conspiracy theory--especially the individual I quoted. Pretending otherwise is disingenuous. .

And Coach Shrews
Exactly.

As noted -

We were 6-12 in free throws the last 1:40, that is how Illinois kept it within range. That and they bombed in a couple 3s including a garbage one with one tenth of a second left after it went through the net. That is what made the score closer than it really was. I had to follow the game on my phone and the lousy ESPN Gamecast is so maddening. We make both free throws to go up 6 with 3 seconds left, next thing it shows is Illinois made a 3 to cut the lead to 3 and still 3 seconds left! I thought the game would never end, the last 1 minute and 45 seconds must have taken 20 minutes to play.

All in all a GREAT win for PSU! Now we are in the Dance! I hope out of the play-in game. This team is playing well in crunch time as we blitzed Illinois with a 14-3 run from about the 6 minutes and change mark to the minute and half mark.

When we get solid contributions beyond Pickett as we did today we are a tough out for anyone. Pickett is such a great ball distributor that if the other starters can capitalize and convert off the Pickett feed then we are rolling.

Northwestern up next, they are rested but not sure that matters much. Now we are playing to improve our seeding!

I never claimed there aren’t posters who think some crazy stuff, but you were the only one at that point in the thread that used the word conspiracy….that’s all I was calling out, it was true, yet you chose to argue about it.

I wasn't--the person that made the fix comment has been saying shit like that since I joined this board. All you had to do was admit it happened but you're trying to argue otherwise. Again, you know better--if you didn't I'd dismiss it as you being as dumb as he is.

Did he use the word conspiracy?

Depends on what the definition of is is….you’re talking in circles instead of just answering the question.
I've answered the question--you're aware of that poster, you've been here for a very long time, and knew exactly what was in intent. Stop playing stupid--again, you're better than this even if you're annoying you're not stupid.

And it’s a yes or no question so you didn’t answer the question…I won’t say you’re better than this because you’re not, you’ll never admit when you’re wrong.

Pickett was the key again. Was very close, he was struggling….his shots were all short….including FTs. Five or six minutes left he cranks it up a notch and took over the game. Like he has done so many times. The guy is a true warrior. If he doesn’t make the NBA he should join the NFL as a middle linebacker as he has the size, great speed and footwork, and most of all the middle linebacker mentality.
Love Jalen. But he will never make the NBA. Plays like an old-time center but as a 6’4” guard.

Watch the tapes. Listen to what the refs said. Ask Matt McGloin.
