Cael signed

They were hired under Joyner, but she has demonstrated the patience Franklin needed to succeed and has made changes with coaches where needed (womens gymnastics comes to mind). I also like the emphasis on facilities... the new lacrosse stadium is coming and the renovations to Jeffrey Field are YEARS overdue. She seems to be a strong proponent for our non-revenue sports. I don't know much about the awards, but her peers also thinks she is doing a good job...

FOUR people won the AD-of-the-Year award! o_O

Don't tell my son. His head will explode. He is still trying to wrap his mind around the term "Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle" that he noticed on a car the other day.

From "AD-type" to "Admin Assistant"? Still don't have it right, imo. Only jumping in here because Cael has an awesome staff top-to-bottom, but all most see are the coaches. Adam has the following duties...and more!!

-- Organize team travel
-- Schedule practice facilities home/away
-- Oversee budget and financial management
-- Oversee equipment/apparel orders
-- Coordinate summer camps and coaches' clinics
-- Oversee daily video editing and statistical needs
-- Assist recruiting coordinator with arranging coaches' travel and official visits
-- Act as liaison with sports marketing and academic student services

There's also an Administrative Assistant that has a full slate of responsibilities, some of it shared with Adam.

Wasn't meant to be an insult. I stand corrected yet again.

Also, this sounds like the coolest job in the world! Sign me up and call me whatever title you want!

.... she is either a scary penny pitcher or a puppet!

No, no puppet!

Hi Dunke! It would be great to meet you (and the other wonderful people from this list)! Unfortunately I live in California. But if I ever do come East, or if you ever come to the Bay Area, e.g., to watch the team at Stanford ...

I want to say that it feels really, really great to have you and @JtotheP and other people I admire be supportive of me and my corny posts, even though I don't know much compared to you guys. It's just another case where the wrestling brotherhood comes to the rescue. The last forum I was posting to before this one was a parent's forum, with mostly moms, and *every* little joke I made, someone was sure to become personally offended, and the moderators kept coming down on me. One of the moms who was nice finally explained to me that I had been "girled". That's when it clicked that I was used to a fraternity, where the people cared about you, but that list was a stereotypical sorority, where the people cared about conformity. Anyhow, I really appreciate this group here, even though I show my appreciation by SPAMming it a little too much with nonsense.

Dogwelder, where do you live in CA?

Just got back from Jordan Camp in Ohio. Was ecstatic to hear about this, while in sparsely-serviced area.

Sidebar, besides being a Buckeye, Micah Jordan is a pretty good dude. Great technician. Few fun technique back-and-forths with him.

Didn't take it as an insult, just sharing more info. The folks "behind-the-scenes" are an integral part of Penn State's success, and except for Coach's comments at fan gatherings, they get little public recognition.

I know I'm just a noob here, but I find your posts entertaining. I love a board that has great info, but also knows how to keep it "light".

Is that the Bar at the NLI? I used to work there back when they were still trying to come up with a name for it. Some of the ideas that my fellow employees wrote in to the suggestion box were...uhhhhh...colorful.

It is...and one of several local "watering holes" prior to and just after home duals.

You should have your son google that and then explain what it means, along with SULEV. Some really interesting technology that cuts way back on emissions from cars. My Prius gets about double the gas mileage of a normal car which cuts back on emissions by half. Being SULEV then cuts it to about 1/10 per gallon burned for a total of only 1/20 the amount of emissions of a normal compact car.

My Nissan 1 ton pickup truck has zero emissions for 23 hours of the day. I'd say that this is "nearly zero emissions" from a percentage use standard. My wife's Prius burns a quart of oil every 2000 miles. A pretty standard "flaw" in Toyota's design. We'll never buy another Prius, but to each their own. At least it burns oil, and doesn't leak on my driveway and garage. She drives it 2 hours per day, so I'm guessing her emissions footprint is about equal to mine per day (and I can carry more than 2 gallons of milk with t he truck) :)

I'm on my 2nd Pruis so I have owned one since May 2003 and never once had to put oil in either one. Sounds like you got a lemon.

That's what I thought, but googled "toyota prius burns oil" and you see tons of 1 quart/1000 mile issues. Now, we have 100k miles on it, so maybe your two are Cherries. I truly believe it is a design flaw. No problem. As I said. To each their own

Googled it and it looks like it is fairly common. I couldn't find anything that shows what percentage of Prius's have this problem. Current car is only 14 months old so hopefully this problem does not come up for me. Sorry it did for you. 1 quart every 1,000 miles is a lot although the cost is pretty minimal, but very worrisome as I would be checking my oil at least once a week just to be sure.

He's thorough. Probably the reason his cars don't burn oil. Gotta love it!

Plus, he is able to get twice as many "likes" from me

Thorough and tried to post once unsuccessfully I thought so I did it again. I didn't even get Roar's post because I didn't notice I did that.

He's apparently on two different devices today, so that might explain it.
Two devices is correct...one was his computer, the other his telephone...he called asking me why I posted what I did. After pointing out the two posts, we both had a good laugh :p.
