Cassar 2 more years

Relax i said i was fine with someone getting 1 extra year due to injury but that should be the limit. You don't see people being awarded two extra years in football do you? Hell if you played 1/4 of the games in football before the injury the waiver doesn't get approved. In wrestling as long as you don't compete in post season wrestling you are fine.

My point is some guys lose years because they can't stay healthy and that sucks but you have to draw a line somewhere. I believe it should be drawn at one year for injury. Other sports medical waiver process isn't near as lenient as Wrestling, i think we can agree on that right?

You think guys should only be able to get 1 "extra year" because of injury, regardless of how many they lost due to injury.

And yet, you chose to express that by saying that Cassar got two extra years because he wasn't a starter (which is obviously not true).

I hope you can understand why that would get some pushback from PSU fans.

Yeah I do, i was trying to make a point. I have to remember how this board is, that's not a knock on the board. But other boards using hyperbole to make your point is just the way of the world.

One man's false statements is another man's hyperbole, I guess.

Personally, if I'm trying to express that I think the NCAA is giving too many "extra years" for injuries, I don't do it by bringing up guys getting extra years for not making the lineup.

That's just me though.

One other thing...we do see football players getting "2 extra years" (a 7th year of eligibility).

For two years? I don't remember anyone getting two years before. I also didn't agree with Micky Phillipi somehow only being of freshman eligibility this past year. Injuries suck but they are apart of sport.

Cassar is not the first wrestler to be awarded two extra years. Grant Leeth at Missouri was and set the precedent. As much as people (and I think you fit this category) want to believe decisions are made to benefit PSU or that there is some sort of precedent bias going on with PSU that is simply not the case. PSU did not make this decision and Cassar is not the first person to benefit from this.

Can someone do me a solid and post a new thread when Anthony does make decision about next year?

So I don't have to read any more of the whining from those who disagree with the waiver decision. TIA

The thing is that it's really unlikely that Cassar even comes back for both years if what we've heard is true. He's trying to decide if he even wants to come back for one. It's probably going to be a moot point that he was awarded two years.

The actual words you typed:

"are they going to give Suriano another year because he didn't wrestle at nationals?"

"Hell gilman should have applied for one since he got beat out by Clark as a freshman."

What do either of those straw men have to do with a conversation about whether a guy who was seriously injured and missed all of two seasons should get one or two seasons of eligibility back?

Verdict: Troll job

You posted that Cassar got two extra years because he wasn't a starter, which is just a flat out lie. You should own up to it instead of trying to spin it. Otherwise, you qualify as the definition of a troll.
its really simple he got two years because he moved up two weight classes. even i understand that. if i was in college i'd get five more years on account i've become a big vertically challenged barrel

He needs to be straight booted. The Scout board got killed by that Khalim jackass

Something I've Changed My Mind On: the efficacy of this Rivals ignore button.

At first I was afraid (not really petrified),
thinking how would visible & ignored posts look, side by side?
But then I spent so many days, reading shit posts all day long
And I grew strong, I learned how to breeze right past all those dongs

I once temporarily put 21Guns on ignore for entertainment purposes -- just to read others' replies to him in a vacuum.

It looked a lot like this:

It was glorious. Might have to do it again with our latest miscreant.
