Cassar 2 more years

Cassar Quote: The reigning heavyweight champion then went on to say that he was not "100 percent certain" but that as of right now, he's "leaning toward wrestling for Penn State next year," and felt he missed out on not having four years as a starter.

Anthony... I'm leaning towards coming back to watch you this coming wrestling season and I'm 100% sure you could win another title with me in the stands. I hope this helps you finalize your plans.

Gable Steveson will be the best 1 time NCAA champ ever.

... and the second "best 4x champ ever" to get taken out by a Penn Stater.

I don't have issues for letting kids get an extra year for a serious injury but at this point are they going to give Suriano another year because he didn't wrestle at nationals?

So he got two extra years because he wasn't a starter?

Hell gilman should have applied for one since he got beat out by Clark as a freshman. Have to draw a line in the sand somewhere right?

This isn't complicated.

Cassar had a serious shoulder injury that caused him to miss 2 seasons. So, now he's been granted 2 additional years of eligibility.

are you even a fan of Penn State wrestling?

I draw the line at complete ignorance. Young man you know not of what you speak.

In the eyes of the NCAA, Anthony has used two of his four years: this past year, and the year previous, when he lost the starting job to Shak. Point to a single college folkstyle match AC ever competed in attached or otherwise—even a psu wrestle off, over the two preceding years, and you might start to have an argument. But you can’t, so....

I'm tempted to give you the chronology of AC's 2 shoulder injuries, with subsequent operations, but some posts are just too clueless to deserve such attention.

If you’re looking for a bandwagon, head on over to HR. It has been their most popular thread for the past four days.

tOSU, best second place team ever.
tSmith, best, most misunderstood quote on a subject the poster had no knowledge of the subject material.
No understanding of the subject material, but quite vocal with their opinion. Obvious tOSU fan.
How many more years does Keshawn Hayes get for never wrestling at his own weight?

Does Micah Jordan get 1/3 of his career back since he never wrestled on bottom?

You realize i'm saying they are too lenient, not the other way around.

I'm not trolling at all, i think that they have loosened the medical waiver rules too much. Injuries are a part of sports, they happen. It's not a troll job, it's an opinion.
And yes, they might have loosened up their rules, but of anyone that received a waiver, his standing is the most solid. He would have qualified easily under the old tighter rules.

You posted that Cassar got two extra years because he wasn't a starter, which is just a flat out lie. You should own up to it instead of trying to spin it. Otherwise, you qualify as the definition of a troll.
Relax i said i was fine with someone getting 1 extra year due to injury but that should be the limit. You don't see people being awarded two extra years in football do you? Hell if you played 1/4 of the games in football before the injury the waiver doesn't get approved. In wrestling as long as you don't compete in post season wrestling you are fine.

My point is some guys lose years because they can't stay healthy and that sucks but you have to draw a line somewhere. I believe it should be drawn at one year for injury. Other sports medical waiver process isn't near as lenient as Wrestling, i think we can agree on that right?

For two years? I don't remember anyone getting two years before. I also didn't agree with Micky Phillipi somehow only being of freshman eligibility this past year. Injuries suck but they are apart of sport.
