I’ll start this off by saying, am I worried? No

But, with two matches in a row getting caught and put to his back, does anyone think his confidence could be damaged a little? One thing I’ve always liked about him is he’ll go for it, and the trip has proved timely and won him numerous matches. Hoping he’s not hesitant and second guessing it now.

Just in his body language, he still looks confident to me.. Very relaxed.. to the point at times of looking too relaxed.. I hope he takes these last two matches and uses the fact that it didn't work to reign in some of the risk taking.. when there is no reason to be risk taking.. He can beat everyone that is in that class in straight up match, no big throws required.. IMO..

No, I just believe he will be more judicious in using the move. I'm certain that opposing coaches are coaching his opposition to watch for and proper reaction to the move. Cenzo is not a one trick pony.

Something seems a little off in his game. Don’t know if it’s confidence, but doesn’t look that way to me. The coach (Cody?) who spoke to Byers after the match implied that Cenzo was experimenting with things yesterday and the coach seemed genuinely happy with his performance. And FWIW, the move that landed him on his back against Marinelli looked much different to me than what happened with the Buffalo kid. Not the same throw attempt at all.

It was not the same throw. I’m not sure what it was as he was rather far from the Buff kid when it started. I’d have to look again.

Looked to me to be a half hearted, non-committed inside trip without good position - too much to the side with opponent having decent upper lock....just way too vulnerable in that position.

Not worried.

I remember when Bo got thrown by Martin in the National finals. There were members here wanting Bo to reign it in. Fortunately, Bo didn't listen and neither should Cenzo!
If PSU starts wrestling with fear they will become like other boring teams to watch wrestle. I love to watch them let it fly and if they make an occasionally mistake, no biggie.

I believe Bo did learn and is picking his shots against the elite wrestlers.
Bo did reign it in for the finals last year with Gabe. And he won. Heard his interview with Bader (?) and he mentioned that he really wanted to go for a throw in that match, but just couldn't find it, and he was dissapointed. I think the same will go for Cenzo. He didn't need the throw against Iowa or Buffalo, but he was aggressive, and it doesn't matter (actually, he didn't need the throw against Imar in the finals either as he would have won that anyway). So happy to see the lineup being super aggressive. Next year, I think all weights will be attacking all 7 minutes, from 125 to Heavy. We lose Retherford points, but should easily counter with newbies at 125/133 and Berge/Verk at 149.

I suspect that PSU will baseline Nationals at 130 every year moving forward, as the depth is now in place

I also expect the PSU fall time record of 8 seconds by Dylan Alton to be broken

Seems to me he pulled the trigger while backing up and away from where he needed to drive to finish on top. Maybe he was baiting the guy and lost balance, but I think it was just him being loose and going for it.

In my opinion by watching the video, it almost looks as if the Buffalo kid initiated the throw. Kudos to him. Looks like cenzo was trying to go headlock away from the underhook, almost like a throw by to a merkle? The the buffalo kid steps behind and throws with the overbook.

Worried? Tough to say

Against AM, many said dont worry, VJ will learn from this but then boom, a non ranked kid from Buffalo put him right to his back again

Dont know all the circumstances, like someone said he may have been experimenting, but its hard to put on that facade of no worries after a second match in a row

I give Grover lots of credit, he hit the move and frankly, VJ toned down his aggressiveness from that point forward

I agree--the Buffalo wrestler stepped behind Cenzo leg to trip- then hit a half ass head lock
