He immediately apologized in the post-game press conference before anyone had the chance to ask him about it.
Which usually means someone in the administration already let him know it wasn't good.

Seems reasonable and should be the end of it. The kid had a complete mental lapse by not stepping up to fill the gap which lead to that no-look pass/dunk by UM. Chambers was right to be pissed at him. Shoving him in anger was a “bad look” and over the line though, but it’s not a criminal offense and he apologized which should be the end of it imo.He immediately apologized in the post-game press conference before anyone had the chance to ask him about it.

How does that compare with PSU's record since being in BIG? About the same ,no?
To me, it looked like a, " you're better than that! Now let's go!", followed by the push type of deal. Look at Lamar's reaction or lack of one. There's really not much to see here

You call that a shove?
FWIW - I don't really care that he pushed him or shoved him or whatever you want to call it, but I do think it's a bad look. I think he's somewhat of a mental midget and this comes during another losing effort.
This is a guy I've stood behind and have really wanted to like, mainly because I think he has brought in some legitimate talent that would see playing time on good teams, however, how every many years in and still no tournament appearances.
I seem to remember a football coach we had here once grabbing a player by the facemask rather physically and literally screaming in his face. This on the sideline in front of a large crowd.
"... how every many years in and still no tournament appearances." Of the 300+ D1 teams how many have more appearances than PSU overall, last 25 years, during the Chambers era? Please remember that approximately 21% of D1 teams qualify each year.
I also remember parents smoking in the car with the windows up with their kids standing on the front seat. For good or bad, times change.I seem to remember a football coach we had here once grabbing a player by the facemask rather physically and literally screaming in his face. Seriously. If I hear one more person quote KenPom about how we really are a good team, I’m going to chuck my television out the window. Use your eyes. We suck. Knock it off with the KenPom nonsense.Very well. The talent on this year's team and last is fully capable of making the tournament. If you check the KenPom rankings over the course of the past 2 years, they have often been ranked around 30. Even right now, with a 7-7 record, we are ranked in the top-50. I wouldn't expect these teams to be a top-4 seed come March, but there's no reason they shouldn't be able to get a lower at-large bid.
So I ask you, what are your expectations for the program?
Last year Virginia Tech was an 8 seed in the tournament. Right now, they're ranked in the top-10 in the nation and depending on how they do in a strong conference, could very well land a 3-5 seed in the tournament.
What advantages does VT have over PSU? How were they able to attract a coach like Buzz Williams? How does Blacksburg differ from State College? What is their recruiting advantage over PSU?
Before someone brings it up, I already know. We BEAT Virginia Tech. However:
1. This only proves that we have the talent to compete with top-25 teams
2. The main difference is VT will be playing meaningful basketball in March and PSU will not.

You act like this is the first time Dread made this mistake...just maybe this has been explained many times and he can't get it right. What do you say COACH?Or teach the young kid what he did wrong and how to correct if instead of humiliate him on national television and inappropriately shove him because coach can’t control his temper?
More of a love tap.
You call that a shove?
Lamar looked like he took control in a positive manner after the push, clapping his hands and getting the team focused. Chambers act on the sideline stomping his feet and now pushing a player is getting ridiculous. I like the players.. Chambers is losing the fans. He's going to lose the players soon too. They better show up Sunday vs Wisconsin. If there was ever a must win for a program and coach, it's this one.
I would like to hear the reaction around hear if Dread shoved Chambers like that.......it would be viewed as a big deal.More of a love tap.
Like it or not, the reality of 2019 is that that sort of behavior is not appropriate in collegiate athletics. Any school could use an incident like that to fire a coach and the coach would have no case in challenging the decision.
Indeed. It would be viewed as a big deal. My point was that it wasn't much of a shove. Times have changed. Chambers erred and I'm sure he regrets it. I had hoped that I had already made my last post here - at least for a while. Had to respond to clarify though.I would like to hear the reaction around hear if Dread shoved Chambers like that.......it would be viewed as a big deal.
KenPom is dog sh*t if it had us top 30 or now top 50. We are nowhere close to either. I could come up with a garbage algorithm too that predicts every year that duke and Michigan State and Villanova make the tournament. Open your Eyes and use your brain, don’t rely on somebody else’s algorithm like you’re some sort of mindless droneAnd at the end of the season, the teams ranked highest in the KenPom will be the same teams competing for a championship. Last year, the teams that finished near where we did in the KenPom were playing in the actual tournament and not the NIT. Quite reliable, actually. Sorry to disappoint you.
And we suck? No sh*t. That doesn't mean we should.
Couldn't beat Indiana at home as a 3-point favorite. Blew a double-digit lead against DePaul as a favorite. Lost to Bradley as a 6-point favorite. Are those points spreads nonsense too?
What does it matter if it was the first or fifteenth time. If he’s not getting it, sit him on the bench until he figures it out, don’t physically confront him like a loon. If he’s not coachable (which I don’t think is the case) then who is responsible for recruiting him?You act like this is the first time Dread made this mistake...just maybe this has been explained many times and he can't get it right. What do you say COACH?
