Chris Godwin highlights

Chris Godwin made a real impact in his days at Penn State. So fun to watch. Such determination.
One of my all time favorites at PSU

Did EVERYTHING - the flashy stuff, and the grinder stuff, very well

How many receivers could you put together a 10 minute highlight reel of........their blocking?

PSU will certainly miss him in 2017 ......... hopefully someone steps up so that the loss is not too great to overcome.

Such a great football player. Fantastic hands, body control, determined blocker. His best and most impact catch was the diving catch to help set up the field goal against Minnesota to tie the game. Trace got all the credit for his long scamper and Barkley had the amazing run in OT, but that catch by Godwin was nearly impossible and saved the drive for us. I will really miss him.

Wish we had the video of this sick catch.

The weird thing about the catch though, and the picture does not do it justice, was that he was totally off-balance and had just got his head around to see the ball. He had no idea Trace had kept that play alive and that he was the target until the second after he got out of his break. Its at the 1:06:08 mark of this video.

So, 3rd or 4th round because of "speed"?

I read he was 3rd team all big ten in coaches poll and honorable mention media. Talk about horse crap. I'd pick him over ANY big ten receiver! Also, one of my faves of all time. Flat-out baller who OWNED any d back covering him or trying to avoid his blocks. Great guy, great receiver. I will Never forget his Rose Bowl crazy-ass catches... He always came thru in the clutch!

I dare to say that no other receiver in PSU history has ever had three consecutive bowl games anywhere near as productive as his combined performances were vs. BC, Georgia and USC!

Hard to believe, but, Chris Godwin was more effective as a WR than Bobby Engram. He was THAT GOOD and I don't think his production and "clutch" play will be easily replaced in 2017.

Wasn't Godwin one of the guys that strength and conditioning Coach Dwight Galt absolutely raved about? Workout warrior, etc.

**found this link from last March http://www.centredaily.com/sports/college/penn-state-university/psu-football/article63693712.html

They’re good enough to bring Barkley within close reach of strength coach Dwight Galt’s “Tier 3” weight ranking. Only nine players grace the list teamwide, per Galt: linebacker Jason Cabinda, lineman Derek Dowrey, safety Nick Scott, receivers Saeed Blacknall, DaeSean Hamilton and Chris Godwin, offensive lineman Brian Gaia, linebacker Von Walker and (surprisingly enough) long snapper Tyler Yazujian, who Penn State recently put on scholarship and apparently benches 400 pounds and runs a 4.7-second 40-yard dash.

Godwin is also a good downfield blocker. That should help his draft status.

Throw out the metrics on this guy. Some guys can just play, he's one of them. I think there might be some concern with his separation ability at the next level, but you hear so much about QB's in the league being able to deliver the ball in tight windows. Well if it applies to QB's, there must be ability to receive in tight windows as well. This guy is big time in this regard. Somebody is going to get a really productive player when they take 12. My all time favorite PSU player was Bobby. This guy is in the same 814 area code.

I said it constantly, Hack was successful his first year because of ARob, Hack didn't make ARob successful. I worry a tad that we might find the same holds a bit true with Trace and Godwin to be honest. But Trace has the ability to make big plays on his own which Hack did not have. So I'm hoping we are not all wondering where did Trace go next year.

I hope CGod has a GREAT NFL career!!

Blacknall and especially Irvin Charles/Juwan Johnson must step up next year. Godwin was a baller, a player that won't easily be replaced... Honestly, I'm 20 years old... and would rate him 2nd all time to ARob in my life time at PSU..

That's ahead of Norwood, Butler, Williams and Moye...

I'm a multiple of 20 and I would put him behind Bobby and you can then argue the ordering of A Rob or Godwin after Engram. Everyone will say A Rob but Godwin was every bit the player IMO.

ARob didn't get respect either and he has done well at the next level. I wish Godwin the best, he will be missed. Woukd love to see him in Black and Gold also.

Absolutely love Godwin, but he didn't reach 1000 yards in 14 games. Trace spread it around pretty well. And maybe Godwin was getting more attention opening up Blacknall, but Godwin only had 3 catches for 33 yards vs Wisconsin. Godwin certainly made a lasting impression in the Rose Bowl. Hope he runs well so his draft stock can improve. He's big, strong and has great hands. Great blocker. Great team guy. Should be a solid NFL player for a team.
