Anybody have any information on Michael Kemerer? Is he the real deal? Never seen him wrestle but I see the future Hawkeye beat a ranked wrestler in Hayden Hilday.

Also looks like Cenzo Joseph vs Kaleb Young. Can Young keep this match close? Joseph seems like he dominates everyone. Thanks for any feedback. Good or bad!

Kemerer is a 3x state finalist. Last year lost to Cenzo in OT. His other states losses were 2-pters to Connor Schram (now at Stanford) and to Ethan Lizak (now a Goofer). You guys are getting a good one.

Cenzo is absolutely standing on his head. The way he's wrestling right now, he might bonus his way thru a tough bracket. Young is really good but will do well to keep Cenzo to a regular decision.

Gavin Teasdale and Devin Brown are both extremely lucky to not be in consis.

Lane headlocked Teasdale to his back in the 2nd. It was tight. Teasdale saved by the buzzer, then won 12-10 SV.

Brown WBF in OT, thanks to one of the fastest pin calls I've ever seen. It was a neutral scramble with DeSanto draped over Brown's back. Brown sat through it and did have both shoulders stacked -- for maybe one second. Maybe. This wasn't remotely close to a 2-count, and the ref had the same angle as the camera.

Pletcher's match was really impressive. Slick ankle pick, cut, pancake, all in 0:37.

Speaking of impressive: 170 TeShan Campbell now has 2 MD wins at states. Siegrist gets him next.

AA semis are tonight.

AAA semis are always Saturday morning ... though, at the rate this tourney is inching along, Cenzo might be enrolled at PSU before his next match at Hershey.

Can't wait for tomm, one of the best sporting events of the year for me are the PIAA finals. Oh n some other tournament starts as well :)

Thanks EL-Jefe. Didn't realize Kemerer lost to Lisak. Interesting

Turk...Kemmerer also won Ironman, Super 32, and Powerade. He pretty much handled a very good Max Thomsen at Super 32. Our future 149.

PSU commit Stout looks the part...

It was at 106 as a FR. 4-2 match. Lizak was notorious in HS both for being an extremely tough leg rider and for wrestling equally conservatively on feet.

Good to hear AZChief. If Sorensen holds down 49 for the next 3-4 years can Kemerer fill to 157? And yeah Stout is good name for that young man

I see Sorensen going up to 157 here in two years. He is already a decent size 149 with room to grow.

Re: PSU commit Stout looks the part...

Dad says he loves to lift weights. Give him a redshirt year to fill out more and look out at 197

Class AA Semifinalists ...

106:
- Gavin Teasdale (SW-1, Jefferson-Morgan, 9th) defeated Jalin Hankerson (SE-2, Boiling Springs, 10th), 9-1
- Aaron Burkett (SW-2, Chestnut Ridge, 11th) defeated Alan Diltz (NE-1, Benton, 11th), 8-4
so Teasdale will face Burkett tomorrow in a rematch of last weekend's SW Regional Final

113:
- Max Murin (SW-1, Central Cambria, 10th) defeated Coy Campbell (SE-2, Upper Dauphin, 12th), 8-1
- Joe Lobeck (SE-1, Lancaster Catholic, 11th) defeated Cameron Newman (NE-1, Line Mountain, 12th), 4-1 TB

120:
- Brian Courtney (NE-1, Athens, 10th) defeated Taylor Ortz (NW-1, Brookville, 11th), 2-0
- Cole Matthews (NW-2, Reynolds, 9th) defeated John Pipa (SE-1, Bishop McDevitt, 10th), 4-3
had Ortz won, then it would have been a rematch of last weekend's NW Regional. Has to bum Ortz to see Matthews finishing higher than him

126:
- Seth Hogue (NW-1, Reynolds, 11th) defeated David Pipa (SE-3, Bishop McDevitt, 12th), 3-2
- Jonathan Gabriel (SW-2, Bedford, 11th) defeated Charles Johnson (NE-1, Wyoming Area, 11th), 2-1
tough for the Pipa family, as they went 0-2 in the semifinals

132:
- Korbin Myers (SE-1, Boiling Springs, 12th) defeated Jarrette Carter (NW-1, Ft. LeBoeuf, 11th), 7-3
- George Phillippi (SW-1, Derry Area, 11th) defeated Michael Bartolo (NW-3, Reynolds, 12th), 3-2

138:
- Tyler Vath (NW-1, Saegertown, 12th) defeated Kyle Shoop (SE-1, Boiling Springs, 12th), 3-1
- Mike Carr (SW-1, South Fayette, 11th) defeated Colin Edsell (NE-1, Wyalusing, 11th), 7-2

145:
- Robert Patrick (SW-1, Ligonier Valley, 9th) defeated James Duffy (NW-1, Smethport, 11th), 11-5
- Kent Lane (NE-1, Southern Columbia, 12th) defeated Nick Monico (NW-2, Saegertown, 11th), 2-0
- interesting that the NW Regional Finalists made to the semis at States, but both lost

152:
- Jacob Oliver (SW-2, Huntingdon, 10th) defeated Jimmy Miller (NW-1, Brookville, 12th), 7-0
- Jake Wentzel (SW-1, South Park, 11th) defeated Michael Comunale (SE-1, St. Pius X, 12th), 5-2
so the final will be a repeat of the SW Regional Final

160:
- Cole Walter (NE-1, Mifflinburg, 12th) defeated Jared Walker (SW-2, South Fayette, 12th), 3-2
- John Vaughn (SE-1, Boiling Springs, 12th) defeated Bryce Fochtman (SW-1, Berlin-Bros., 12th), 6-5
one of the rare finals were the Western part of the State is not a participant, though both finalists go to a school that is located west of the Susquehanna River

170:
- Greg Bulsak (SW-1, South Park, 11th) defeated Anthony Welsh (SW-4, Beth-Center, 11th), 5-2
- Nick Stephani (NE-1, Troy, 12th) defeated Levi Niebauer (SW-2, Cambria Heights, 12th), 11-6
3 of the 4 semifinalists from the SW Regional

182:
- Dakota Geer (NW-1, Franklin, 11th) defeated Bill Bowlen (SW-2, Jefferson-Morgan, 11th)
- Corey Hazel (SW-1, Penns Valley, 12th) defeated Colton Dull (SE-1, Bermudian Springs, 12th), 4-3

195:
- Dylan Reynolds (NW-1, Saegertown, 12th) defeated Logan Womelsdorf (NE-2, Benton, 12th), 7-2
- Scott Thompson (SW-1, Blairsville, 12th) defeated Luke Fournier (SW-4, Elizabeth Forward, 12th), by pin at 2:27

220:
- Jacob Robb (SW-2, Kittanning, 11th) defeated Tyler Oliver (SW-3, United, 12th), 6-5 TB
- Reynold Maines (SW-1, West Branch, 12th) defeated Zach Stafford (NW-2, Cambridge Springs, 11th), 5-3

285:
- Jacob Beistel (SW-2, Southmoreland, 11th) defeated Ian Wolfe (SW-3, Jefferson-Morgan, 12th), 2-1 TB
- Al Beattie (SW-1, Burrell, 12th) defeated Saul Wilkins (NE-1, G.A.R. Memorial, 12th), by pin at 2:28
3 of the 4 semifinalists were from the SW Regional

5 of the 14 weight classes are guaranteed to have an underclassmen win the title. Only 2 of the 14 finals are between seniors. 16 of the 28 finalists are from the Southwest Regional -- pretty damn impressive.

Could be, but FR should win.

Interesting note at 182...

Penns Valley has only had one state champion in its history (Max Dinges in 1963). Corey Hazel will be looking to end the 52 year drought.

Re: Class AA Semifinalists ...

126: Triston Law made the consi finals, gets a rematch with Pipa for 3rd. Pipa bounced Law to consis 1-0 in the semis.

132: We get the long-anticipated match between returning state champs Myers vs. Phillippi.

160: If Cole Walter wins the final, he will have beaten the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th placers -- with all 4 being SR D1 commits.

You were right Lionlover, Franklin Regional ran away with it at the end!

Re: Class AAA Team Race, Beca leads Franklin Regional ...

Lionlover. While Beca has a very good team, It's to bad Franklin Regional's (soph 126) Gus Solomon suffered a season ending injury on his way to winning his section qualifier. At team states,, Solomon beat both Karam ((Beca) and Trampe (Council
Rock) who were both finalists at 126.

If Solomon was healthy he would have been favored to win and may have secured Franklin Regionals 5th State Champ.
