Football Defense powers Penn State to 38-10 win over SMU in CFP First Round

Yep, Is it too much to ask to have both offense and defense play good in the same game?

What else do you want? 50 yard booming punts? Coffin corner inside the 5 downers? A 50 yard FG?

You will get 1 good side per game and be stressed out the rest. It's in our contract.

I feel bad for Jennings. His coaches did not protect him. No way I let him do pre-game interviews on the field when he should be getting loose.

Instead, Saban is allowed to get into his head by throwing three major negative obstacles at the kid.

I was really surprised by seeing that interview. Should never have happened. You tell your kids to avoid the media until after the game.

Not completely over folks. They get ball first. SMU came back against Clemson. Bring the heat. Don't give up TD on first few drives and we can feel good.

Any team we beat is by definition a cupcake. I hope PSU can win the whole thing, then the experts can say the Bowl Subdivision was down this year.
Anyone we play in the semis is legit
The contenders are Oregon, Georgia, Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame and Ohio State...maybe Tennessee
The rest got in because the committee didn't want to just put in Ole Miss, USCe and Ole Miss--plus the dumb QA bids

Down 17 against a 3 loss Clemson who's best win was...Pitt?...prior to that game isn't the same things as down 4 scores to us in Happy Valley with brutal wind/cold with a QB that looks done

Allar 12/21 121 0/0 TD/INT with 24 rushing yards
Jennings 9/19 77 yards 0/3 TD/INT with negative rushing yards
Weather is a factor

Yeah 28-0 and 27-17 identical - geeze
No--very much like it--read the ND/Indiana game thread
Indiana dominated the game--Indiana scored a couple late TDs to make it look closer than it was
We're better than ND as I said last night but how you don't see the similarities is scary--did you watch the game last night?

Could not have asked for a much better first half. Setting up well for Penn State to be able to get guys some rest after the half, as well as getting some younger guys some run as they start to turn their attention toward Boise State.

When you play in very cold weather, you don't feel it if you are ahead. Trust me, SMU will feel miserable coming out for the 2nd half.
Drew had a very good 2nd qtr

Maybe per the score, but I don't think we played well at all in the first half. Without the SMU gifts -- four of them -- this game would be close. Let's keep in mind that SMU is not even close to Top 10 in terms of talent.

My projection is that reality sets in at the Orange Bowl.

Difference I see though is the SMU lines are competitive with PSU and going toe to toe. Indiana was totally dominated at the line of scrimmage by ND. But yeah the result is similar because of the SMU pick 6s.
