I didn't generally have a problem with the article considering the fact it was written by bitter MSU writer. He was right in saying a PSU/UW CCG wasn't something any of the conference honchos wanted but we already knew that. There were two comments which made me roll my eyes...

• "It couldn’t rescue Penn State from itself — from, best-case scenario, being an awkward-but-tolerated guest next week or, worse case, embarrassing itself and the league a month from now on a national stage." I understand the guy is upset with the MSU loss but this shows how dumb he is. Any team which has pride in itself will always welcome the opportunity to face a tough opponent. No doubt this writer thought PSU would embarrass itself against OSU too.
  
• "So Penn State will represent the Big Ten’s East Division in the Big Ten championship game against Wisconsin. Tickets are on sale for a Bob Uecker baseball card and a six pack of Miller Lite." It may come as a surprise to this guy that both PSU and UW have large and devoted fan bases. No, I don't expect the CCG to be a sell out with scalper prices being $200 but I suspect there will be a respectable crowd relative to other CCGs. More importantly, with all the undeserved shit this team has had to endure for the past five years I foresee a lot of PSU fans traveling to Indy to support them.

No one outside Wisconsin and PA wants to see the championship game? Penn State's tv ratings have always been high- much higher than MSU.

You could say the same about all the championship games. Who outside of Colorado and Washington cares about the PAC champ game (not including PSU fans who want a UDub loss )?

Who, outside of Oklahoma cares about Oklahoma vs Oklahoma St?

Who is riveted by Bama destroying Florida.....again?

Or Clemson destroying a bad VA Tech team?

I would bet the big ten championship comes in second in the ratings of those games.
