E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!!! Birds - Redskins game thread

As mentioned the LT is on the roster as is the C. 2Wrs. Check. 2DEs? They are committed to Graham and Barnett. The LBs they have are fine. I think 1 corner and they will live w the rest. And of course a S.
That’s just the nature of the business. It’s not IMO a major rebuild. My definition of a major rebuild is a coach a QB, 2 tackles a RB a K, and a Defense.

I'll add one more and you can have the last word. Graham is getting old, he's had a good year but how much can you count on a 32 yr old DE? Barnett, besides having a hard time staying on the field due to injury, has not performed up to a 1st rounder when healthy. Can't count on him.

The corners are not good enough. Maddox is a good CB in the 3 CB sets. The safeties are getting old, MJ will be 32 next year (he's my favorite Eagle with Sanders 2nd), McLeod will be 30. I don't know why Douglas hasn't been moved to S. LB can be found thru free agency, I agree with that.

I also agree that it's not a major rebuild but it's significant.

Eagles would be better off losing the last 2 to improve their draft position
I was actually hoping they would lose out after they lost to the Dolphins to improve their draft position. They are so decimated by injuries that even if they miraculously make the playoffs they will lose the first game. Need to draft some quality DBs and WRs.

I think the biggest rebuild will come via the medical staff I mean who has all these injuries and why do they have them?? Do they start with a new training staff? Team MDs? S & C guys? IDK

I give the Eagles a legit shot to beat the cowboys at home. I wonder what the odds are right now for the Eagles make it to the NFC championship game.

Last I Saw Cowboys 66% chance Eagles 33%
Next week games is key for both although the Eagles have to win 2/2 while the cowboys 1/2 with next week the 1

They've been fighting this fight for the last 2 years. They let Deluca Peduzi and Dorshimer go last year when they had that rash of injuries, and this year wasn't great either. Although i'd say i'd give the current docs another year to see what they can do, since the CMO was hired on June along with some other positions, but i agree with you that there's something going on with the medical staff right now. is the team over training? under training? no idea, but something's happening

lack of pressure from the DLine is the biggest problem, IMHO. Combine that with DBs that are not great at coverage, and it's a problem. Schwartz usually masks this with disguising his package, and bringing unexpected pressure. Experienced QBs (like Fitzpatrick and Eli in recent weeks) are not often fooled by this. I expected Haskins to have trouble picking up what Schwartz throws at him, but so far that hasn't been the case.

speaking of which:

Didn't they get a sack on the last play of the game?
good question!!! I know they got a fumble !! I ripped the bartender's head off when he tried to change the station before I could watch the replay.

No. A sack can only take place on a play in which the QB is attempting to throw the ball. On the last play, Haskins initially looked to make a pass, but then he attempted to lateral the ball to Chris Thompson. Since a lateral is not considered a pass, no sack was awarded on the play.
