Edinboro Open

Connor Pierce to the finals with a 5-1 win over Sam Cartella of Northwestern. Pretty solid win, Cartella has wins over Kinner and Rathjen this year. Pierce definitely is a fantastic room guy who will continue to jump levels (no idea what happened to him against Hofstra but safe to say it was an off day)

Kyson Garcia with a couple of nice wins - not nice in a PSU way, but nice in a normal college freshman way - and only got sent into the consys with a 2-0 loss to Gliva from Minnesota who is about lower level D1 starter quality.

Maybe our next David Evans type development guy?

When I was in the room observing practice as part of the NLWC golf outing this year, Conner was practicing extensively with Mitchell. The next afternoon they were at the golf outing with Levi just hanging out. Mitchell suggested that they do a group photo with me. They are a great group of young men.

By the way, I thought Levi looked bigger than Mitchell. 😉

Garcia is from Utah so that makes him the next Bearclaw, right?

Last minute decision. It was here or North Allegheny High School. A good friend's niece wrestles for North Allegheny and she was recently ranked #1. He invited me to see her.

NA is 20 minutes from me. Edinboro is 1 hr 20. I got here for the quarters.

Also, my son's old high school coach is the head coach of Edinboro. So wanted to see him.

By the way Cael is the coach here for the team.
I'll say it again. I envy you locals who get the pleasure to see Penn State wrestlers wrestle in person. I have only seen Penn State in person once, and that was when I drove from San Diego to watch them wrestle (and lose!) to ASU.

I also was at that match with the wife. I blamed the loss on her. But she was there today and the guys did great. Maybe it's me!

Being a west coaster, I jumped at the chance to see Penn State visit Stanford about 5 years back. Only an 1.5 hr. drive for me. Was able to grab a pic with Cale too!

Sorry to leave you guys in the dark, anyhow Leyna, the girl wrestling for North Allegheny at her tournament went R16 Fall:15, Qrts Fall :54, Semis Fall :16 and Finals Fall in :27. Total mat time 1:52. Not bad, reminds me of some other kids.

Have a good Sunday

That’s awesome Ryder can go 174
On the eligibility file he is listed at 184 with Barr

Can’t wait to see him vs Facundo if Carter doesn’t come back
