Fan Duel says OSU -5.5

generally speaking, osu fans are the worst, but at least they have reason to crow, they have accomplished a lot..i hear the same from you guys every year, psu needs to do something before they get the benefit of the doubt...osu will win saturday, and if the offense can't make splash plays, it's a 2 score game...and since you brought it up, Michigan is a bad matchup for psu, your pass rush and secondary won't help cover for your soft interior defense..
We know Michigan has accomplished alot....a 1/2 a natty since WW II. LOL.

You are a Michigan Man. Delusional and loving Ohio State to keep your school feeling relevant. Whatever helps ya sleep!!

Ohio State and Michigan fans have this strange relationship with each other’s team where they secretly love each other when they’re not playing each other. I suppose it’s all about getting some hyped up match up for “The Game”.

3.8 yards an attempt is not "ramming it down their throats."

Our D won that game. That's the reality.
3.8 yards times 3 = a 1st down every time.

Sorry if you prefer a different style.

Only if you average 3.8 that includes a lot of 1 and 2 yard runs which means you won't always get a first down and that's the point. You can't sustain that type of success against better teams. It's not realistic to believe otherwise.

We need more big plays--that doesn't mean a different style. Air Force is solely about the pounding the ball but they break long runs--as every seemingly does at a higher rate than us this year.

Singleton averaged 2.9 against Iowa, 3.4 against Illinois, 3.8 against NW...this is the best defense we've faced. If that stays the same we won't win unless Allen produces.

My biggest concern is coaching. I think there will be multiple times when we question CJF.

my accomplishment comment explained why osu gets the benefit of the doubt..pretty clear, i thought..but while we're on the topic, pretty sure winning the big ten outright 2 years in a row and getting to the playoffs 2 years in a row is a worthy accomplishment for UM..pretty sure most psu fans would be quite pleased to have done the same the past 2 seasons..don't worry, with the expanded playoff system next year, psu can still get into the playoffs without winning the conference, lol..

seen this mentioned by somebody else, must be more hive mind...thx anyway

It’s pretty simple. While UM has been irrelevant on the National stage, they can always maintain some relevance (in their collective mind, at least) by hyping The Game. So long as UM can play spoiler to O$U, they (UM fans) can have a sense of self-worth.

I am starting to see +3.5 in some places. I like seeing the line go down.

meh, not the last 2 years....how far back are we going.?

Under the current system we don’t get in when we do win it, so there’s that, lol!

Not sure what you’ve been watching as a Penn state fan predicting a loss. This is best all around team Franklin has had and this isn’t Ohio state of the past with nfl first rounder at QB. Can’t win this year at osu they may never

I actually think the stars align more favorably next year when we'll get them at home, Drew will have a year-plus starting experience under his belt, and we'll be bringing back a boatload of talent.

I think we've got a legitimate shot this year, but it will be no cakewalk. The "experts" make the Bucks a a favorite after all, and they're not pulling that assessment out of thin air.

This is a winnable game. But it's also a losable game. Yet a large number of our fans have unwisely convinced themselves it's in the bag...and a lot of them are ready to bring the roof down on Franklin if we lose.

The reality is we'll still potentially have everything on the table...even with a loss in Columbus. But we'd have to put that game behind us and focus on the rest of the schedule, especially Michigan, a team I think we're going to beat.

We don't have the luxury of going into one of our patented despairing funks while giving up on the rest of the season if we lose on Saturday to a team that in fact is favored to beat us.

fans are fans, what surprises me are beat writers going on podcasts and talking about a potential blowout..logic would dictate a more temperate optimism..

As far as the national championship is concerned, a single loss will remove us from contention in all likelihood. We are probably looking at four undefeated conference champions.

not sure i agree....if brock bowers doesn't come back at 80% minimum by the sec championship, that game will be a toss up with alabama..oregon is the best all around team in the pac, good chance they beat UW on a neutral field in the pac championship...texas will get another shot at OU in the championship...

Disagree. Even with a loss in Columbus, if we beat Michigan at home, which we'll likely be a slight favorite to do, and the Wolves beat Ohio State in Ann Arbor, which they'll likely be a slight favorite to do, then we start getting into tie-breakers...and at this point, things are looking up for us on that front.

Conference championship yes, but national championship in what looks like Franklins last best chance for a few years, no. One loss and we are out.

If they lose without Bowers they still get in. Georgia is the one team that can have a loss. Now if they lose twice that's a problem.

I’ve said this for years. They absolutely do
not hate each other…. Just the opposite in fact (like you said ). They would love for both teams to be 11-0 heading into that game every year.

That reminds me of a quote from Johnny Drama (from ‘Entourage’). When asked about his recent acting gigs he indignantly says “I’ve been working steady for the past twelve years minus the last three!”. Michigan fans are like “We’ve been relevant for the last 30 years minus the first 28!”

depends, if they get beat by a 1 loss alabama team, why would uga get the nod over other 1 loss teams that win the conference championship?..say psu, texas and oregon all win their conf championship games and all 3 are 12-1.

Because they're Georgia who is the 2 time defending title and they can minimize the loss due to Bowers not playing. They'd also likely be #1 heading into that game and won't drop 5 spots. Texas is in that situation is in trouble.

With better players and better coaching, Penn State has rolled into O$U and throttled O$U.

But that was a different time. PSU is more talented than they have been in a while. But O$U has better players, better coaching, are battle-tested against ND (on road, night) and are home (with Big10 officials overseeing the game).

Hard to make a case that PSU can win this one. It will need to be an effort like the Rose Bowl last year…this level of play has not been seen this year to date.

And the referines do their very best each week to make that a reality.
