(4) Penn State University has never been a plantiff in any of the various lawsuits against the NCAA or Louis Freeh. That's the Paternos and Graham Spanier suing. Which is their right. Anyway, Penn State University leadership never publicly complained about the NCAA sanctions during the 2012-2015 time period.

So, given the above --- and given that you used the phrase "the university" --- what exactly do you think they should have done differently during the November 2011 onwards time period?

Yes, not so good things allegedly (and yes, "allegedly" is the correct word choice here as regards the cover-up, nobody has been found criminally guilty of anything just yet) happened in the pre-November 2011 period. The NCAA penalties/sanctions were used to address those activities from that era. There was a time and place to discuss the exact nature of what those penalties should be. The time/place for that discussion was the summer of 2012. The penalties were served and the NCAA decided to lessen them (again, not because of the threat of a PSU lawsuit) in September 2014.

I for one, am ready to move forward from that era of our history. Sort of a part of my greater life philosophy: "you can only move forward, you can't change the past. Do better going forward."

You talk about Michigan's lack of class for mentioning the Penn State/Sandusky/pedophilia/sexual abuse case yet you then go on to talk about something that happened in the UM medical system (?) regarding pedophilia and the Unibomber. And finally to top it off you call UM "hypocritical" for their acts in the Shane Morris incident last year but seem to fail to realize this was the tipping point in AD Dave Brandon's firing and contributed to Brady Hoke losing his job. U-M, of course, was 5-7 last year, with a head coach that since got fired.

CJF still couldn't beat him. Because he was doing dumb stuff like calling fake punts in a game where he already had the lead, neither offense was doing much, and field position was paramount.

Not to mention CJF wasting a time-out at the end of the game: all to save 2 inches of field position in a position where taking the safety was the obvious decision.

Spin it as you will: CJF has coached MULTIPLE games (Michigan 2014, Maryland 2014, Illinois 2014, Northwestern 2015) in his Penn State career where he's blown it, because he's not a very game in-game tactician. He was out-witted by the likes of Brady Hoke, Randy Edsall and Tim Beckmann. 3 coaches that all got fired not soon after defeating CJF.

Perhaps things will change, but those are the facts as they are through 23 games of the CJF at PSU era.

And also pretty darn close to being undefeated, coming off a 5-7 season. Lots of players from those top 10 classes are no longer on the roster, tons of attrition over the past few years. No development at all for those who stayed. JH has turned around a pretty crappy team very quickly. Can't wait to see how the team develops over the next few years. Next year we return nearly everyone.

Like you stated, it "figures". Why go to these boards when you know other fan bases will bring this drivel up? All you do is get yourself all riled up. You're not a masochist, so don't subject yourself to that punishment. Any time someone brings these arguments from other fan bases to this board, the same old arguments are hashed again and, right now, most are intransigent in their position. CJF is 0-4 --- Michigan gets bucketed in with both MSU and OSU. MSU, OSU and U-M: the teams that have generally been good historically and the teams he HAS to beat if he wants to take Penn State to the top of the division.

CJF is 1-3 against the spread vs. U-M, MSU and OSU. So, still below .500, even with that metric.

As I said, JH needs to be better than a combined 0-4 against MSU and OSU. If that is where JH sits 55 weeks from now, then he will be feeling considerable heat.

I feel that the Freeh Report's conclusions --- while they did NOT meet the standard of "beyond a reasonable doubt" --- were generally correct.

And the conclusions were NOT based on SOLELY "baseless egregious speculations." The Freeh Report did lay the evidence for their conclusions on the table, for all to see.

Speaking of "evidence" --------- Wick Sollers said in April 2012 that he has "indisputable evidence" that Joe Paterno did not know about the 1998 allegations in 2001. April 2012 was FORTY-THREE months ago. If the Paternos and their supporters are so tired of a "good man being trashed and destroyed based on baseless and egregious speculatition", they should instruct their lawyer to release said evidence.

If such evidence exists, of course, and Sollers wasn't solely bluffing.

I admit it --- once Jay decided to sue our University, claiming that the Freeh Report is the reason why he isn't currently coaching college football --- my level of dislike for the man increased significantly.

As I've said a number of times before:

(a) Jay is mentioned specifically ZERO times within the Freeh Report.

(b) Every other assistant coach on the 2011 team who was under 70 years old and not mentioned specifically in the Freeh Report IS currently coaching within college football.

What does that tell you?

From my POV, Jay has no self-awareness and blames others and never sees fault within himself. Those aren't good character traits.
