Willie, why aren’t any matches from rider/Iowa or VT/mizzou available? Or do I just not know how to navigate?
More generally, is flo expecting the user to watch live or should I be able to count on matches being archived somewhat quickly? In the past, I’ve watched little live but been able to see things pretty quickly after. I’m not sure if it’s the redesign or a philosophical change but I’m finding that harder to do this year
unfortunately we don't have the rights to those matches so we cant host the videos. live updates/match notes is the best we can do.
regarding everyone else's complaints: thank you, for real. we (the Flo peeps) read as much as we can and are trying to get all of those issues addressed. We are pumping more human hours and resources into those deficiencies as I type.
Asking people to bear with you means nothing so I'll spare you all that nonsense. All I ask is to keep posting (cause we read it) and hit us up on social to help us figure out where we are falling short.
Also if anyone is going to the CKLV please say hi. it is the best to meet wrestling fans IRL and I am always amazed at how excellent and personable our community is.

Ok. Thanks for the response. There is an issue here that I do believe leads to a problem. On twitter, the flo account has all kinds of stuff about VT mizzou tonight. It leads one to believe that you were showing it live. I read that stuff later and thought I’d like to watch the archived matches. So were you showing it live or was it just promoting your “blog” updates? If you don’t have the rights, that’s fine, it just came across like you did.
As for Iowa, that’s not on you, that’s the big ten. If anyone can explain to me when things are on big ten plus vs university’s own web content, I’d love to hear it
Seriously though, I do get that you guys put a ton of work in and appreciate it.
We just did live updates. Never had the stream. Apologies if it got confusing. As mentioned, the ACC Network and WatchESPN have the archived match. If you get ESPN through a cable provider you should be able to log in and watch it.
Whoever watches the ESPN replay: just be sure to put it on mute. The announcers are awful -- as in, just barely short of Nebraska student announcer awful. No illegal fists to the back, but lots of mat returns being "takedowns," scrambles being "takesdowns" or "reversals," not describing any of the scores, missing action while talking about general stuff, etc.
one thing being worked on as I type is getting updated rankings to the top of the rankings page. I don't know if we'll see a major overhaul of how the rankings are displayed but I agree with everyone that there is plenty of room for improvement. we'll continue to upgrade the user interface but I can't give you any specifics or a timeframe at the moment.
college and HS rankings should be always at the top as they are updated with the most frequency. other neat rankings you guys do can be drop downs or just just below what fans crave.
if thats what the elfs are working on in Martins warehouse, then Im good.
PS- you might want to add a disclaimer or notice of somekind with your login, that speaks to what fans should be using on their phones/pcs to have the best use of the site videos/streaming. outside of your billing/backoffice getting ripped on, the interface fans have is the next most common b!tch I see.
I dont think a lot of our fan base understands how connection speeds/browsers/etc affect your viewing enjoyment. if they did they wouldnt be b!tching like they do.
Hi JH, a question related to Flo's list of upcoming events in this new redesign. Given Flo's agreement with BTN+ to simulcast those matches, should we just assume that that will happen, or should we see those actually listed in the "Upcoming Events" list?
The reason that I am asking is that I do not see the many PSU BTN+ matches scheduled yet showing on the list of Flo's upcoming events, but I do see some other B1G schools listed in the same timeframe.

If it's on BTN+ we will have the simulcast (simulstream?). I know there has been some last minute changes where what was once going to be on BTN+ got pulled and streamed or broadcast by the schools or through some other fashion. I haven't seen the contract so I don't know the details for how or why that happens.
Then there are the matches that will be on BTN but not BTN+. Those we will not simulcast.
What matches are you seeing that will be on BTN+ but aren't on our Upcoming Events list?
Specifically, the following matches are scheduled for BTN+ but not yet listed on FloPro’s “Upcoming Events”:
Jan 19 PSU v Purdue
Jan 21 PSU @ Maryland
so it appears that what will be on BTN+ changes from time to time. Flo has no control when duals gets pulled or added and I'm not sure how the communications happens when it does, so sometimes we have to play catch up. If there is a Penn State match on BTN+ though, we will definitely also be streaming it, even if we don't have it up on our list of events.

I am thankful. Each November I am seduced into subscribing to Flo only to get disappointed in December and cancel. This year I was able to resist the original temptation.
I just got a survey from them and told them they can have all of the content in the world, but if you can't find it, it does no one any good.
Every video I play will randomly skip and repeat the same 10 seconds three times in a row. Anyone else having that problem?

It bothers me to pay $30/mth and still get an advertisement every time I go to FLO. It's the same damn advert video every time. Hey, I'm convinced! Stop pushing it down my throat! I'm paying $30 to see an ad? And today the ad got replaced by "This Video Is Unavailable" as static showed on the screen. Well screw you! I didn't want the video in the first place. If it's unavailable, don't show it!
The Flo redesign closed some vulnerabilities in their site that allowed you to watch all of their content for free, so they've at least improved that.

Sounds like the second problem was caused by a non-Flo content provider, who shut down the availability of the material.
They're based out of austin where you can't walk to the end of the block without bumping into a talented web designer. Their new redesign is atrocious and if it did fix some of their business needs it solves none of their users needs.
Flo has become too big in the sport for this level of bad but then again they don't have much competition so I guess we need to lower our expectations?
