As an Iowa fan, the crappy part of those rankings is that almost every Iowa weight is at the peak they could possibly finish.
125-Likely finish right around #1 rankings
133-Likely finish right around #1 ranking
141-Murin could definitely finish at his #8 ranking, but wouldn't surprise anybody if he's off the podium.
149-Would love to see Lugo finish at #3. Wouldn't surprise anybody if he's 5-8
157-#3 is likely Young's ceiling
165-Likely finishes around #2 ranking
174-Likely finishes around #3 ranking
184-If Brands finishes at his #6 ranking as an undersized 184 I'll be shocked. Stacked weight. So many studs ranked behind him.
197-History any amount of tight matches he wrestles would say he will likely finish below his #4 ranking.
HWT-Cass at #2 is crazy after 1 notable win. 5-8 finish wouldn't surprise anybody.

Meanwhile PSU has tons of weights where they will likely move up in rankings. The team race is ridiculously tighter than 139-102. No way.

One question: is our next hwt going to be good enough to compete with Kerk and Cassiopi etc. I believe he will be good, but how good.

Will it even be physically possible for our next HWT to compete with Kerk?

One thing to bear in mind is that, unless Kerk transfers to PSU (or maybe Cornell, who has a good prospect in Fernandes), he can only indirectly impact the team race. He's out at Ohio State. He's not going to Iowa. He's not going to OKST after flipping away from there and Smith getting both Ferrari and Haas. ASU has Schultz. Etc.

His impact may be to lower everybody's team scores across the board.

Iowa is a huge favorite according to rankings. Are you willing to give the 30 points in this bet? I will take PSU +30 in the tournament for 2k to any charity of choice. I will take PSU in the dual at a mere +11 if anybody feels brave. I would hope Iowa fans are jumping all over these offers as they are slam dunks if the team is in fact not over rated at this time.

Rankings mean nothing. Some had PSU a heavy favorite a month ago, some had it tight, now we're discussing one that has Iowa a heavy favorite. Gonna be fun … hope y'all are ready! This season, to me, is as intriguing as 2018, when tOSU & PSU had a season-long epic back-and-forth. It feels similar...two teams that appear to have separated themselves from the pack.

Berge at 157, Brooks at 184 and a healthy shack at 197 if not healthy than beard. I think the good guys win the dual vs Iowa and get the 5th straight ncaa title.

Does Meredith move into top 10 because he beat Collicoco? Let’s see if Spey sticks to his horrible ranking process.

Obviously I don’t think Meredith should crack top 10 or even be ranked, but just goes to show how Speys method of moving guys up to replace the guy they beat is such a crappy/lazy way to do rankings.

I never thought I’d say this but Pyles can you please help him out as he’s made a joke out of the rankings. Better yet maybe Flo should just stick to other content since their rankings behind a paywall

true that. I actually loved Willies crystal ball rankings as that had some real thought into it and looked more like what I think the podium would be.

I’m actually a little tired of the old “they are not prediction approach”.
