Transferring to Ohio State. What say you good people?
Think it’s a good fit. C.J. Walker is gone, and Duane Washington isn’t really a natural PG. They were a bad team creating turnovers/steals, so he’ll be an upgrade in that department.Transferring to Ohio State. What say you good people?
I agree, it is disappointing.Disappointing.
Doesn’t take away the fact that he was a hard worker — a real hard worker — and gave Penn State all he had for four years.
But, still. Disappointing.
You transferred too?I hate us more than Wheeler does.
Transferring to Ohio State. What say you good people?
I don't like transferring within conference.Transferring to Ohio State. What say you good people?
Well, hopefully he helps to give them a losing season like he did at PSU.Transferring to Ohio State. What say you good people?
He is a hard worker. But hardly strikes fear into any good post player.Wheeler was a very good defensive force who was improving his shot during this past season. He and Harrar were close friends and that probably means Harrar isn't returning either. I wouldn’t want to face Harrar on the court if he also joins an opponent.
Who is this Jamari Wheeler you speak of??Transferring to Ohio State. What say you good people?
He is a hard worker. But hardly strikes fear into any good post player.
Are you sure Walker isn’t coming back ???Think it’s a good fit. C.J. Walker is gone, and Duane Washington isn’t really a natural PG. They were a bad team creating turnovers/steals, so he’ll be an upgrade in that department.
And he still got eaten alive by good post players. It’s okay to admit, no one is perfect. He is a solid rebounder and a workhorse....he just isn’t a great basketball player. I wish he would stay because every team needs a guy like that, but let’s not act like he developed into the next Larry Bird.He is a hard worker who wasnt even supposed to play college hoops. Was bound for Army to play football until he played in several AAU tournies his senior year and outplayed multiple high profile players. He never really focused on bball until well into his jr hs year.
Nice story for sure. But not the level of player we will need to get to the next level. That said, he was still easily our only serviceable big and will be missed if he leaves. Shrews must and will get better - more and better - or his tenure will end like most other PSU coaches. He is a hard worker who wasnt even supposed to play college hoops. He must have been impressed by their deep tournament run.
It was deeper than ours...He must have been impressed by their deep tournament run.
And Wheeler was part of that. It’s not like the players didn’t contribute to not making it.It was deeper than ours...
Who said anything about the Final Four??? There are "his types" playing in the tournament, which is something that PSU rarely does.He will get some minutes at Ohio State but their team winning or losing won't depend on him at all. As for Hararr, great story, great energy on a lonely Tuesday night in the BJC. But I watched the past two nights and didn't see any of his "type" of players guiding their teams to the final four.
Thank God...as long as he can use PSU as a stepping stone to get to the dance, then all is well. We should all celebrate.Who said anything about the Final Four??? There are "his types" playing in the tournament, which is something that PSU rarely does.
If he transfers to school that makes the tournament and loses in the first round, that's still an upgrade. He would still be able to experience the big dance in-person
Yeah, they were talking about how Houston made the final four three years in a row in the 80’s and that doesn’t happen now because nobody keeps players that long.I am no longer a big college BB fan. But watching the NCAA's the last few nights, I've been surprised at how many transfers are playing and making a big splash. It would seem that just about every player is "one and done". Coaches need to, in essence, re-recruit their entire teams. One and done is one of the reasons why I quit paying attention: there are no stars anymore. By the time you see a star, they are gone to the NBA. It is even worse now because if you root for a specific team, the entire roster can turn over in a year. The players, and coaches, just become cardboard cutouts wearing a school uniform.
I've read several articles that mention that he's done, but I can't find a specific one saying he's grad transferring, graduating and moving on, etc. And in checking some OSU hoops forums, he's not mentioned at all as someone that will be back next year. So I'm pretty sure, but not positive. Are you sure Walker isn’t coming back ???
Yep...and just to be clear, I don't blame the players. Let Freedom Ring. But for a fan, it is no longer a great experience. Perhaps it is better....I should spend that time fishing or with my family.Yeah, they were talking about how Houston made the final four three years in a row in the 80’s and that doesn’t happen now because nobody keeps players that long.
Name a Hararr on Baylor, UCLA, Gonzaga, or Houston. Those teams are full of fast, long, athletic, and interchangeable guys. If you want to say the two white guys from Gonzaga, then you are wrong as well. Those guys have more talent in their pinky finger than hararr does in his entire game.Who said anything about the Final Four??? Hope no one would try to put that all on the players.According to the NCAA about 40% of all men’s basketball players who enter Division I directly out of high school depart their initial school by the end of their sophomore year. I couldn't believe how high that number was. 40%? That's like divorce rate numbers. It might speak to our overall culture of honoring commitment.
I guess that you missed the point of my post. I specifically said that we aren't talking about the final four, we are talking about teams that made the tournament.Name a Hararr on Baylor, UCLA, Gonzaga, or Houston. Harrar isn't very good. He is when the Pirates always sent their closer to the All Star Game.....the skinny kid at fat camp.
It’s mostly on the players.Hope no one would try to put that all on the players.
