So there seem to be a Big 4 Freshmen at 141 in Red, Yianni, Storr and N Lee.

Clearly Yianni won round 1 with N Lee, but that is just the start. Cliff Keen should reveal more with 3 of the 4 going.

If you had to rank them now how would you put them? I'll start:

1. Yianni
2. Red
3. N Lee
4. Storr

With N Lee just a hair behind Red at this point, though with the talent to be right even or surpass him over the course of the season.

It's Yianni and then it's really too early to tell. Could just rank all three of them tied for 2nd.

I think Yianni is the next DT in terms of an NCAA wrestling superstar. Scores a ton of points from every position and has a charisma to him. Everybody is a fan, he is just an exciting wrestler.

I'm sure now that DT has turned heel, lol, I'll get some responses here about how he only won 2 titles and there were better wrestlers than him during his career. But in his four years of competing if you polled the wrestling youth of America asking who their favorite wrestler was, there was no doubt DT would win in a landslide. Even the HR was full of fans back then. I think we are going to see the same thing with Yianni. With probably more titles.

Hope we get to see Yianni v Meredith at CK.

Cornell has a good one in Yianni Diakomihalis. Nepotism is often very strong in wrestling, and Yianni has 2 younger brothers...Greg, who I believe is a 10th grader, and one younger.

you are right about all of this. However, I think Nolf should have the title for now!

Having watched a lot of Yianni for a few years now I agree he's potentially very special and can wrestle with anyone there; my only question is whether he's tough enough to survive the grind of a full D1 season, not because I think he's soft--though it's true he wrestles like a tactician more so than a by-any-means junkyard dog--but because he's not yet done it. Really looking forward to seeing him against Meredith this weekend, could be the most compelling match this year in any class thus far.

Agreed. Although I was effusive with my praise for him above, I'm not making any NC predictions for these year just yet. I compared him with Taylor for his excitement and likeability, but DT had the benefit of a RS year which Yianni will not. True freshman always have a few bumps in the road.

Anyone with common sense knew UM would do well to get to 9 wins this year. 8 wins with only 1 blowout loss to a good PSU team isn't that bad, considering they lost so many Srs.

The people predicting top-10 were blinded by the Harbaugh hype. I suspect they will be in the mix next year.

Is there a wrestling analogy here?

Wait, I thought DT-type talent only came around once in a generation?? :)

Agree on Yianni. He's not only super likable, he's an absolute STUD of a wrestler. An instant fan favorite.

I like Yianni over Harbaugh in a close match.

LOL, that's what happens when bouncing back and forth between boards.

Actually, I think Harbaugh would start to gas around the 2 minute mark. I can see a tech fall in the works.

Dice, allow me to respectfully disagree and provide what I believe is a much more appropriate DT comparison.

With all due respect to Yianni, who I agree is super skilled and highly entertaining, I have to go with Dean Heil for my choice for DT clone. His low scoring matches and 4-3 wins are so much more dramatic. I mean have you seen this guy? Every time he wrestles he's on upset alert. It's must watch tv.

So you can have your throws, your falls and your bonus points. Give me the 4-3 snoozefest. Chicks dig the stalling call!! ;)
