Good analysis of the strengths of each team and the matchups. Cael always has his team prepared and it should be an entertaining evening. Will be especially nice if the Brand brother perform their normal childish antics and then have to leave with long faces....

Great PSU WIN!

Yep, RBY outdoing/outpointing Spencer Lee was a big early momentum event. A couple of Iowa wrestlers that were underdogs did their best to stall within the rules, and then it comes down to the heavier weights where the PSU kids are under pressure to pull out the win. And they did.

From the way Kerkvliet handled Cassioppi it's hard to believe he had lost to him 3 times in a row in NCAA competition. Kerkvliet looks so much bigger and more athletic than Cassioppi, but Greg probably wasn't that big when he first met up with Cassioppi.

Cael seems to always have his guys ready for the big matches and tonight was no exception. And it's always great to see the Brand boys go home losers.

With the attendance at 15,998 one would have thought that someone would have gone out on the street and recruited 2 more people to get to an even 16K !! ;) ;)

Aaron Brooks crushed his opponent, he is awesome! That was a big win to surge us ahead.

Franklin was on the bench, great to see. Also a phenomenal turnout at BJC! 16,000, WOW!

How's this for a photo from last night? Two 11's watching the #1 team in the nation.

A lot of students were turned away.

Really enjoyed the match and the Iowa coaches were invisible. Question though, going into the final match, PSU up 20 - 14, scroll showed Iowa pin in final match would tie score and give win to Iowa on some kind of points, not sure what. Can anyone explain, also, how many PSU wrestlers also played football?

Criteria.

It's essentially the tiebreaker system. Somebody broke it down elsewhere, but it goes to points scored in non fall matches. Iowa would have won due to a 38-34 advantage had Cass pinned Kerk.

yeah I think it would have been tied 5 to 5 in matches and 1 to 1 in falls so it goes to the third criteria. Very arcane.

Except that isn't happening. Ever. In fact, Kerk isn't even losing to Cassioppi again, actually.

Cael seems ready for just about anything. He just has the development process for each of his guys, how they need to continue to get better in practice and then show it in the matches, as the constant goal. Just like Joe, he does things his way, consistent in his methods of preparation to meet each challenge as the season moves forward, which comes out in every one of his interviews.

Cael’s results speak for themselves. Talk about a dynasty. It is what all of the PSU football fans dream of.
