From the HR Board

Or you can come on here and comment on it, why is that not a simple solution? We are supposed to ignore it but Vodka can come here and tell us we are 12 year old girls for commenting.

But maybe I have just become the angry old man yelling at kids to stay off my lawn. Enjoy everyone!

Well, in the case of that particular individual, he has been called out by some HR faithful for those posts in the past. However (as noted over there previously), since it has no affect on him, people stopped bothering.

The bottom line is that many on HR are obsessed with PSU (for good reason), and many on BWI are obsessed with what posters on HR are saying about PSU. I guess it is fine to care, but you can't expect to go into other people's house and tell them how to run it. HR posters decide how they handle "their own" -- not us.

One individual came over here to tell us how to run our show, and guess what? We jumped all over him and ridiculed him mercilessly. I'm fine with that, because it comes with the territory, and they do the same at HR. Sure, our methods may differ, but the HR isn't a warm-and-fuzzy place, anyway. That's fine -- each of us has a choice about whether to participate.

There are good people over there. They do get swamped by PSU/Cael-haters periodically, and so it just comes down to your tolerance level for wading through the crap to read good stuff, learn about various perspectives and personalities, and possibly engage. But we have no right to go on their board and tell them how they should be admonishing certain posters in their house, even if one of them did come over here and make a contradictory statement about the subject.

Good points. I just need to double my block list to include we8iowastate (jerot being the other).

You should change your username to whinyPSUPaul. Does your wife get sick of your nagging and b*tching? Relax a bit man. Drink some tea.

Still zero comments about wrestling.

Like Jammen without the charm.

This is my new off-topic board. What's your alcoholic beverage of choice?
what kind? How hot?

PS- i get my starbucks at 140 degrees....that is actually how I order it. haters will tell you its "kids temp" but when i order 140 sounds hot!

Not sure degree, but I like tea/coffee to be hot enough that you have to wait a decent amount of time for it to cool down before you can drink it w/o scorching your mouth. Sounds like 140 is in that range.

a) Im a firm believer that the adult beverage needs to match the mood or the experience. Right now Im having a nice red wine with the wife, while being heckled by my 8yo son about being beaten down in fantasy football (he has Watson/Hopkins). earlier I had a few oktober fests after the daughters indoor soccer game with the other parents. for breakfast with my headache and steak and eggs I had a screwdriver. Im all over the map, which is also probably why I like the cesspool and find it entertaining.

b) Yep that is what i do with the morning coffee too.

Actually she complains more than me, i am pretty mellow. Just trying to get my point across. Oh, and on HR some one commented that BWI is talking about Teske at 32 and how he will never make the lineup. And guess who liked the comment, he may like vodka. But I thought there were no posts about BWI comments there? Just like there is no vodka in heaven, only bourbon, a real man’s spirit!

There is a simple solution. If you don't like it because it offends you, makes you angry or uncomfortable then ignore it or avoid it completely. In my mid 20's thats what i did with some of my long time "friends". My life and health got a lot better. You are always in control
If I quit visiting the site how in the world would I know what I want to make fun of.

I visit, I read and if the thread about "what I love about Iowa wrestling" I can post a response that is honest without being caustic.

When Iowa has 3 NCAA finalists and all 3 lose without scoring a single offensive point and HR implodes with a collective whiney "those other guys all staaaaled" I might feel a need to point out the utter silliness and lack of logic needed to collectively make that conclusion.

When there is a collective Cael bash going on I am probably going to interject a fact or two that steps on the fantasy induced delusional toes.

You take internet posting way too seriously man. Do you have a little notepad you write down to keep track of your grudges and times you've been slighted? That's what I mean by relax.

Good choice on the bourbon.

You sound so noble in your response. The delusion goes both ways. Try hopping off your high horse for a bit.

Vodka, and you missed my attempts at taking it down a notch. I did say I might have become the cranky old guy, plus my swipe at vodka, though maybe you caught that by complimenting the bourbon. Though I do really only like vodka in a bloody mary for brunch.

I did think I was pretty good tying in the no vodka to no BWI posts, but I guess it fell flat.

I had a glass of bourbon when we went 5 for 5 in the finals last year. Tried it last night in the 4th qtr but the mojo wasn’t there. Oh well, PSU wrestling in 11 days!

What a horrible comparison, no wonder you were banned.

And therein lies the problem. It's actually a good comparison because both things are horrible events that have absolutely ZERO to do with the wrestling programs involved in the discussion. Bringing them up is pretty much the definition of the worst kind of trolling. But the fact that you can't see that says a lot.

Only a high horse sort of thing if what I posted was untrue.
I think despite your protective protest you understand the jist of what has been posted here about HR.

I rarely (if ever) see you participating in the silly threads or bull crap whiny "go away" responses.

As long as this is already way off topic.

140 is the temp needed to kill legionnaires disease in water, if maintained for sufficient time. So you may have that going for you.

;)

Agree - It's a way off topic trivia question about the difference between the recommended temp settings for water heaters in Canada and the US.

Because Canada had one of the largest outbreaks of Pontiac Fever from the same Legionella bacteria, they set water heaters at 140 degrees. That's the temp that kills the Legionella bacteria after a certain number of hours. The Canadians were primarily concerned with citizen health,

US activists were more concerned about energy savings, so US Govt bureaucrats set the recommended temps lower around 125. That temp won't kill the LD, but they reportedly won't propagate.

The more pertinent question is what's the appropriate temperature for grilling ribs. (Or does that need to be asked on the Suriano thread.)

We have a new one started. I would like to see it sink off the front page, but since it seems imperative to post on it to keep it afloat you could post the rib question in that thread. That would allow the thread to at least serve a purpose.

If I went to HR and put on Ignore all of the posters who like the PSU cheating conspiracies, HR would all but disappear entirely.

I enjoy coming over to your board for WRESTLING discussions and I would hope I'm not ignorant enough to get in a verbal fight over the colors of kid's singlet or school. However, your idiot trumps ours.

Stay healthy, kids and good luck. You know the latter is a funning lie.

I'll stop posting here now, I just feel intelligent over here. It's a nice change of pace for me.

This isn't a slam by any means, but I feel like the guy watching football that sees everything on the field including line play, secondary, and defensive schemes around a bunch of dudes that only watch the QB and a poor man's Reggie Bush. To use a football analogy for the wrestling newbs.

I suppose one of these days you might engage in a wrestling discussion. Possibly you could educate us on the "heeeeee's staaaaalling" Iowa mantra and how the Hawks would immediately return to superiority if only every time someone else is shooting the ref would call that guy for stalling.

I need an interpretation here. You are sounding like Pinters. (I appreciate your posts Sans, sarcasm is strong with you.)

And before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, this is a thread about HR so I take that as an invite. Sans is a legend.

Absolutely. Jerot is my personal troll. He has followed me wherever I've gone. From what I can gather from before he went on permanent lockdown, he had a list of about 10 responses with which he'd use to post a reply. Didn't matter the subject, he'd simply pick from the list, such as:

great stuff
great insight
you sound even dumber than usual
you sound more effeminate than your buddy 1985. (How he knew through a keyboard that I was wearing panties I'll never know)
You are a classic dope
He's a total dope
wow, what a complete dope
you are a true lightweight
you are lisping again

Completely original in content, so if you attempt to use any of these witty replies, be warned that they are likely trademarked.

If a slight is dropped on the Hawkeye Report and not one Penn State fan complains, does the slight still become an insult?

Not really. If that is "savage", you are way to ""knew"" to this thing of ours.

The HR can get lit up in a single post. The HR has some of the thinnest skinned anonymous posters out there. The HR rather than playing the internet game well, yell sandusky, pedo, go home, band wagon, etc. There are a few guys here with more internet game in their thumbs, then many on HR would have with the aid of Blue Gene

Sans is good, very good at times. this here isnt his best stuff. He can do better. Get'em next time.
