FSU vs Duquesne ? Why not

It was only 26-0 at the half. FSU is a shell of their former selves.
Duquesne played TCU last year and also plays Hawaii this year--kudos to them for playing legit programs and getting paid.

I wish Pitt would play Duquesne instead of those other random FCS schools like New Hampshire or Austin Peay. Would make for a fun opening weekend and a nice crowd.
Don't post that on the Pitt board - you might be accused of being a Nitter since they would find some way for that to be construed as negative comment about Pitt.

Maybe for the same reasons that Va Tech learned not to schedule James Madison, or worse, Old Dominion in Norfolk. UVa has l9st to Richmond in recent memory, and we had a squeaker vs. App State.
U of Delaware is 11 miles from my house. I've followed them my whole life...been to many games and root for them..but I'll admit to being more nervous than not. I think they took Pitt into the 4th qtr recently.
Same with Villanova last year where they were able to read our plays based on a tip that an Olineman was giving. When we couldn't run of the Cats I knew we were in for a tough year...

That’s a fair perspective. And we’ve certainly had our struggles with FCS teams in the past (I’m looking at you, Youngstown State). Knock on wood, but I don’t think Duquesne is at that level due to their level of investment (e.g. residing in the NEC, scholarship count), which is why I don’t see the downside in playing them. It’s probably the closest thing we’d get to a guaranteed win.
Ultimately, I think P5 schools should stop playing FCS programs altogether. But, if we’re going to, it might as well be a local school, you know?
I'll take it a step further--P5 schools shouldn't play G5 schools let alone FCS
