Is this game in danger of not being a sellout?

If you live within a drivable distance, and you’re not going, you’re crazy. Bragging rights for life. “I was at the first ever playoff game at Beaver Stadium the first year they ever had home playoff games in 1A”.

Live in the Harrisburg area? I’ll give you a ride. I have parking. Buy a freaking ticket.

No students that I know got tickets…but I bought my daughters tickets via Nittany Lion Club…but other students will now pass…this was botched…should have granted more student tix.
They say that we just made it up. Students didn’t request their allotment blah blah blah. Fake news they say.

Not kidding. I’ll pick you up. Save you $106 in parking. Tag me in this thread.

Lots of empty seats on Ticketmaster- and not resale seats but seats never sold. There are big sections in the student section corners with entire rows unsold.
Should have given more students seats…there was demand and many were very disappointed and made other plans.

I do hope that all of you so worked up over this spend as much time thinking about crowd size during the game as you are during this week because holy shit. If you’re attending maybe try and count the empty seats. Biggest game ever and the number one thing on your mind is the ticket sales.

Don’t forget the time it takes to get out of the garages.

You all could live down here in Austin and be surrounded by Quinn Ewers commercials with the local ambulance chaser. Count yourselves lucky

I know 6 students. 5 got tickets with no problems, and 1 never wanted a ticket.
The 5 students I know best - none got tickets…with all tne no sakes, they should have allocated more…1st time…live and learn

The students not buying tickets for a few bucks more in "their" sections doesn't help that argument. And I reject the notions that they couldn't afford the $150, or magically simultaneously came up with "something better to do" on 12/9 when cards were charged.

Nobody will ever convince me of this fairytale.

Again, you must be new to Penn State football and sports in general.

A playoff game doesn't make it the biggest. In fact, our game versus Ohio State on November 2nd was bigger than this game.
I disagree only because we can now lose 1-2 big regular season games and still make the playoff. Those games have been devalued.

I think I missed that one. Lorenz & Lorenz? 🤣

The students are gone by now. You think the students stuck around after they didn’t get tickets? Laughable

it really doesn’t matter what you accept or reject…

I don't follow the logic of that compared to the logic of the other fans.
Students chose to attend the University, not all are necessarily big PSU football fans. But those fans who have season tickets are indeed big PSU football fans so will make more of an effort to attend these types of games.

Also students don’t have as much money to come. Gotta pay for gas to come back and forth, maybe even fly. And yes tickets are more than $28 in most cases.

Two of my daughters have been season ticket holders every year on campus, applied but were rejected. I am paying for them to sit with me. Not enough tickets were allocated.

Yes, and to be fair - it is a couple of days b4 Christmas, most students are long gone from campus - so you have ~3 hour + drive each way, it will be frigid, SMU stinks, and PSU continues to disappoint/underachive under Franklin.

Surprised tickets are selling as well as they are…lots of seats to fill under these circumstances.

But they still may have plans with their families that can't be changed

I wasn't buying into the student ticket conspiracy early on because all of the people I knew with students go tickets. But my daughter came home from school yesterday and she said a bunch of people she knew applied for tickets and didn't get them. So either the university lied about giving tickets to everyone that wanted them or else they had a glitch somewhere that the university wasn't aware of.

I read that students were given the normal allotment of 21,000 but they only sold 16,000. I wonder if some students missed the deadline so those ticket were then made available to the general public.

No, students had made the deadline but still didn’t get tickets. There are tons of students saying this.
The ticket inventory and pricing are controlled by the CFP. All students who requested tickets by the Friday, Nov. 29 deadline received tickets, and no student requests were turned away prior to the Nov. 29 deadline.

This is not true. How much evidence do you need? I posted about 100 people/students saying this is a lie. I’m honestly getting tired of posting these. Gotta go, about to fly out. See you boys in SC.

You are correct. The demand was not as strong as it is for season tickets.

A regular season game is bigger than our first ever playoff game in PSU history? Not sure if you’re being serious.
You can have your opinion. That doesn't make you right. It just means it's your opinion. Really glad you're excited for this game enough to be in SC. Enjoy "the biggest game in PSU history."
