So here we go. We win this one by seven. Get a good match up on Thursday and win again. Pull off a minor upset next game before bowing out
Those there wins get us a bid with a decent seeding in the dance and win yet another before the season ends.

Coach gets a technical. Not sure for exactly what but I know that I was complaining on an earlier possession when Pickett was bumped off the ball with no call and led to a three pointer the other way; 5 point turnaround. MD has been called for 0 fouls in almost 10 minutes.
PSU won the first 5 minutes but MD went on a 10-0 run. Now an 14-0 run. 6 turnovers and 3 missed defensive rebounds.
Henn had 2 turnovers but one was Lundy giving him a difficult pass.
MD tightened D on Pickett.
Wynter 0-1

Funk 1-3
PSU has nothing when Pickett can't get into the paint.

Listless performance so far.
Really bad play by Lundy.
Poor turnovers by Henn, Funk, Cleary, Lundy, Wynter.
Giving up 3s but defense isn't awful.

Yes. At least after the technical, the refs started calling some fouls on MD. Unfortunately, PSU is playing like garbage so it’s not helping. Unforced turn overs, terrible offense, poor shooting, doubling and leaving the wrong MD shooters open. A combination of poor coaching and execution
Those 3s are due to wide open looks. PSU is double teaming and MD kicking out to open shooter. The last one was a triple team.
People talk about good and bad shooting. Lundy & Funk would be making those shots too. They just aren't getting the same looks.
Why do PSU players go through so many stretches of looking great then looking completely lost?

An absolute horrific half of basketball for PSU. Throwing the ball away, missing shots, missing free throws….just awful.
Offensive rebounds for Terps are a key...which also lead to Micah's Technical. UMd w 7 3s.
Maybe we ger to "Reverse Rutgers" where we are great in 2nd half for the W?

the only good news is that the 2nd half will almost definitely be better
they can come back from 13 down but it's not super likely
MD clamped down on Pickett. Credit to them. It's sad but PSU doesn't have other options if Pickett can't distribute.

MD with 7 3s. Almost all unguarded.
I don't know but he is creating 5 and 6 point swings in the wrong direction
Surprised we would put forth this kind of weak effort. Very disappointing. At least keep the game close, this one is almost out of reach at halftime. We play our worst half probably of the year, unbelievable. Maryland, of course, plays very well like a seasoned tournament team. Need to come out with much more energy and focus and cut the lead in half by the 14-15 minute mark.
if we can get it down to a 5 or 6 point game by the 4 minute mark then we have our chance
but another 19 point half won't do it
We’re good at giving up 13 point leads, but I don’t think we come back from that far down very often.
Yeah don't have a lot of confidence Mayland will not make a FG in the last 10 minutes. That never happens, oh wait.
Pickett and Njie keeping us in the game by themselves
if the rest of the team just doesn't show up at all for the biggest game what can you do?
Giving up too many offensive rebounds. That and Terps making plays will not be favorable.

It's like my golf game. I have friends who have a 7 and still shoot 80. I have to avoid double bogeys in order to keep my score below 85. I'm not good enough to fall far behind and catch up.

Maryland is shooting about 100% this half

Unfortunately we’re playing poorly, but Maryland is playing well….bad combination. We played poorly against NW, but they didn’t play all that well either, which gave us the opportunity to win. Unless Maryland goes into a bad slump, I don’t see that happening today.
We have some good perimeter shooters but Pickett has to create for them. If he can't we're screwed.
Our players don't even cut to the basket. They just hang around the perimeter.
our last chance to make it a game is coming up after this timeout. if we can cut it to 6 or something maybe it can happen. if it swings back to 15 or 16 that's the end
The problem is every time we make a small run, Maryland answers back and usually with a three point play. It’s just not looking good at this point.
