Must be saving them for next week.....they have simple dig routes or crossing patterns that tend to get 5-6 yards much easier.
Don't mind the decision to go for it. I just don't feel that was a high probability throw.Nah, the decision to go for it was right. Clifford made a bad read and got greedy and Washington needs to make that play
Michigan's just better and better coached.
Correct. Penn State is going to Allar full-time unless they lose each of the next two games or eventually lose three. Until they're out of NY6 contention, I don't see it.I know everyone wants to see Allar but this is not the time or the place. Once you go to him you're with him. Get through the next two keeps. Unless we win both you go to Allar.
That 4th down pattern that Cliff threw to Washington is a loser. No margin for error, ball coming straight over the shoulder. Not a route that can be expected to be a completion in the clutch.
If that's the best play PSU has for 4th and 6 this season may just go like 2021.
Clifford is giving his heart to this game (just threw one into the dirt though) but this game plan is not making it.
He'd get killedI know everyone wants to see Allar but this is not the time or the place. Once you go to him you're with him. Get through the next two keeps. Unless we win both you go to Allar.
His pass was spot on.Going back to it - we talked about it on the Penn State 365 Podcast this week. It's not the turnovers from Sean Clifford that plagues Penn State over the years. It's those missed opportunities. You convert on that fourth down there, it may be tied right now instead of down 14.
Yeah, we agree on that. Clifford makes the right read though and we're probably all happy right now.Don't mind the decision to go for it. I just don't feel that was a high probability throw.
Agree he thinks explosive plays somehow overcomes the ability to not run, block, and tackle. It is like the MLB teams that hit 50 home run but hits 220 and then come playoff time they are out in the first round. This is Franklin folks
we aren’t ever going to be elite under him
The fans have also largely accepted it but it started with PaternoI blame the Board. This is what happens when you de-emphasize football and fail to recognize the history.
Will someone in the media have the stones to ask Franklin why the team played so soft today? This team is so soft
Maybe, but the problem with Diaz's scheme is that it will often give up the big play.Diaz did what he could for a little while but the talent gap is massive.
To also be fair, if it wasn't for a ton of missed tackles today, half of those big plays don't happen. Think Diaz is probably doing as best as he could to a degree. Not a great game being called but still.Maybe, but the problem with Diaz's scheme is that it will often give up the big play.
