Suriano made Mark Hall hate wrestling!… I think a lot of people even speculated Mark Hall looked kind of done with it by the end here.

I believe JTS is speaking with conviction from the heart and contrary to some of his previous posts, this isn’t an attempt to troll the Hawks.JTS gettin all mushy like.
I don’t think you’re getting soft.… I’m afraid I’m becoming too soft….
Excuses are for wussiesI don’t think you’re getting soft.
I just can’t shake this feeling that you’re just worn out from the “grind” all these years. Something is going on with your head and your heart… You probably just want to go back home, hide from the wrestling forums and just be a regular guy.
You’ve had the entire HR world focused on you as the next anti-Christ. The pressures you must have been under and is still under! It’s enough to break our hearts.
I hope I’m wrong.
Thank you for for your concern. I really do appreciate it.I don’t think you’re getting soft.

Straight up savage…Mike Evans?
A friend of ours and her twin sister both tore their ACLs playing basketball in HS. She has 4 daughters. The oldest is 15 and already tore her ACL. Their pediatrician said the way their legs are structured, it's an almost guarantee that all 4 of them will blow their knees out if they play sports. All 4 play soccer, basketball, and softball. The most uncomfortable reality we might (but hopefully won't) have to deal with is that some guys are injury prone. 3 ACL tears, affecting both legs, probably means he is anatomically vulnerable to them, which is a thing. Knew someone from high school who played D1 football, made the All Big Ten freshman team, and then basically tore his ACL every single year after that. Just brutal.
I think most look at me as one of this worlds biggest Hawkeye haters which is probably pretty accurate….So naturally, anything I say about Spencer is looked upon as just sour grapes. Being 100 percent honest here though, I can’t shake this feeling that Spencer is just worn out from the “grind” all these years.
I started feeling this way a couple years back when Spencer didn’t seem himself out on the mat. I asked a question earlier in this thread if it was ever confirmed that Spencer had mono that year? I asked that for a reason. When the fans over on HR were speculating and trying to make excuses that he in fact had mono…I felt there was something else going on and it had more to do with his his head and his heart…even if he did have mono. There was also an interview with Tom Brands at that time that struck me as being odd when he was discussing Spencer. Man I wish I could find that interview. Brands almost seemed irritated and my initial reaction to it was Spencer just wants to go back home, hide from the wrestling world and just be a regular guy. Anyway, He’s won 2 national championships since then but my opinion hasn’t changed one bit. Spencer is so good that even if his heart wasn’t in it anymore he could still dominate college wrestling.
Spencer has been wrestling since he was a little boy, much of that time he’s had the entire wrestling world focused on him as the next great thing. The pressures he must have been under and is still under. Add to it the the immense physical toll his body has taken. I genuinely feel bad for him to be honest. Setting aside any opinions I have about his desire to wrestle, just all the injuries alone is enough to break your heart.
JS will say this is all wishful thinking on my part so I’ll just say it right now…. He’s full of shit. I love PSU wrestling and love to hate me some Hawkeyes but there ain’t no damn way I’d wish any of that on any kid. Especially one that is giving his heart and soul to this sport. And trust me, I’ve been around my fair share of a kid just searching for a way to be happy in this world… you feel and pray for kids like that.
I hope I’m wrong, My God above I really hope I’m wrong on this but I think Spencer is looking forward to his college wrestling career to end. I think in his mind his last big goal is to be Iowa’s first 4 timer and to step away on his terms. Not the coaches… not his teammates…not his parents and certainly not the fans. And if he does, I hope he has one helluva happy and enriching life because he sure as hell earned it.
my son just tore his acl for the 2nd time and it didn't hurt as bad and he could walk. Got a 2nd opinion from the 'Skins (WFT) doc and said he would be fine without surgery however if he wanted to play soccer again, or sports in general (with cutting motion on your knee), he should have another surgery. But there was talk how he is an anomaly being able to walk without pain. However at the beach a month ago, he couldn't do what he normally does on the spikeball scene. He chose last week to get it done...A friend of ours and her twin sister both tore their ACLs playing basketball in HS. She has 4 daughters. The oldest is 15 and already tore her ACL. Dunke, you’re getting soft. You used to say “Delete your account.”Back away from the keyboard

Don't want to keep engaging with him directly, but Spencer did confirm that he was dealing with a serious medical issue that year, but didn't say what. Mono was message board speculation, but there was something going on apparently.Excuses are for wussies
Gilman left the HWC because of one primary reason - Spencer Lee. He knew his best chance to beat him was to move away and not allow Lee to drill with him every day. Pretty common knowledge that there was a gap developing. Say whatever you want, the HWC is the best place to be for lower weights from a coaching standpoint and daily competition.Gilman, and it may not have been close. It's kind of shocking how little freestyle Lee has done while at Iowa considering his international accomplishments and aspirations. He really needs to get healthy; was a physical mess at the end of NCAAs and it will be worse next year if he doesn't get his knees repaired and have proper time to heal. Just how long is he supposed to postpone his international career? I look forward to the day I can support him in a USA singlet but I'm concerned he is missing out on some of his prime. (see Gable Steveson).
I thought Gilman had made comments about how little he actually wrestled or drilled with Spencer and that lack of coaching attention, especially after Perry left for the desert, was a major reason for his move to NLWC.Gilman left the HWC because of one primary reason - Spencer Lee. That's just what he said. HR is referring to the other "common knowledge" that they know about. You gotta have an inner circle to be in the know.I thought Gilman had made comments about how little he actually wrestled or drilled with Spencer and that lack of coaching attention, especially after Perry left for the desert, was a major reason for his move to NLWC.
Yeah...he did say that.I thought Gilman had made comments about how little he actually wrestled or drilled with Spencer and that lack of coaching attention, especially after Perry left for the desert, was a major reason for his move to NLWC.
When HR speaks..I listen. How else would I have known Teasdale was giving Spencer and Desanto all they could handle in the room? That's just what he said. HR is referring to the other "common knowledge" that they know about. You gotta have an inner circle to be in the know.
😏
You gonna believe him or HR's lying eyes?I thought Gilman had made comments about how little he actually wrestled or drilled with Spencer and that lack of coaching attention, especially after Perry left for the desert, was a major reason for his move to NLWC.
No offense, but you have always been soft. Like Willie Saylor 2 ply ultra charmin soft.Yeah I know. After posting it and the reading over it, I really need to spend more time over on HR.
I’m afraid I’m becoming too soft….
After college, Perry became his coach, which makes sense because he's the HWC coach. Tom and Terry focus on the college guys, and therefore Spencer. After Perry left, it would have been a somewhat awkward situation for TG to try to transition back to T and T coaching after they've been focused on Spencer for several years.I thought Gilman had made comments about how little he actually wrestled or drilled with Spencer and that lack of coaching attention, especially after Perry left for the desert, was a major reason for his move to NLWC.
Coming from you I must be really soft. I mean after all, you are part of the crew over there that was called out by your mod for being crybaby, bellyaching pussies...No offense, but you have always been soft. Like Willie Saylor 2 ply ultra charmin soft.
You really have no clue. Who are you to say what Spencer is thinking and feeling? He wants his career to end? Really? Do you think he is the only guy that has wrestled since he was a little kid?? I can literally feel you crying into your computer screen when you type.I think most look at me as one of this worlds biggest Hawkeye haters which is probably pretty accurate….So naturally, anything I say about Spencer is looked upon as just sour grapes. Is this you trying to seem unbiased?I don't suppose anyone here sees the irony in believing everything a once supremely hated athlete is now saying? One that was always considered arrogant and full of himself. But I guess he's your douchebag now so all is ok. While achieving a bronze in the Olympics is a tremendous accomplishment, he did win a silver at Worlds before he came to NLWC.
You got booted by those mods a half dozen times because of all the crying and bellyaching you did over there. Am I wrong on that?Coming from you I must be really soft. I mean after all, you are part of the crew over there that was called out by your mod for being crybaby, bellyaching pussies...
Are you stupid or what? You do realize the entire post he made was because he was sick and tired of you PMing him all the time to ban me because I keep hurting your feelings? The guy couldnt even enjoy the board because you pansies wouldnt stop bothering him and you embarrass the rest of your fanbase. If you don't believe me, go over, pm him and ask. His name is Mike Zeirath. To be honest, I think he and I have come to an unspoken resolution. They keep giving me usernames and in return I quietly take a new banning from time to time so he doesnt have to listen to you crying like a newborn that just shit it's diaper. You got booted by those mods a half dozen times because of all the crying and bellyaching you did over there. He’s probably silver in Tokyo as well if he doesn’t get Uguev right off the batI don't suppose anyone here sees the irony in believing everything a once supremely hated athlete is now saying? Logical fallacy. Being a jerk didn't mean Gilman was disbelieved.I don't suppose anyone here sees the irony in believing everything a once supremely hated athlete is now saying? Your crying wont work on this board. I'll discuss what I want to discuss on THIS board. So save that shit for when I post on your board. If the mods dont like what I'm posting they will get rid of it without all your pissing and moaning. Crying all the time like you do isn't good for the psyche...You really have no clue. Who are you to say what Spencer is thinking and feeling? He wants his career to end? Really? Do you think he is the only guy that has wrestled since he was a little kid?? And I'm thinking he's probably Gold in Oslo if he gets Uguev right off the bat. 👍🏻He’s probably silver in Tokyo as well if he doesn’t get Uguev right off the bat
I never PM anyone on Rivals boards SteeltownJohn. You are so angry! RelaxAre you stupid or what? He has the heart of a black knight! No one can question Spencer Lee's heart
I hope he doesn't end up the same way.He has the heart of a black knight!
Gilman is a far better wrestler now than he ever was at the HWC. Do you have eyes?I don't suppose anyone here sees the irony in believing everything a once supremely hated athlete is now saying?
