Has anybody heard the word on Cutch? Broken bone/bruise?

All I remember the announcers saying was that x-rays were negative and that they would wait to find out anything else about 'Cutch.

I hope the announcers are saying tomorrow the condition of the Atlanta player that gets hit in the arm. It's time to defend Cutch!!!!

I was at the game and it was maddening to see no replay. It was like back in the day when PSU would show no controversial call on the bigscreen. Why wouldn't they show a critical HBP?

I know that just about everybody says that throwing at a batter is "part of the game". I say bull dump, when a batter is hit and he didn't lean into the pitch, the pitcher gets tossed - zero tolerance. That'll stop this crap. It is not "part of the game". One other pet peeve; when a runner slides out of the base line to take out the defensive player in an attempt to break up the double play, both he and the runner going to first are automatically out. If we can change the rules to prevent collisions at home plate, we can also change rules to prevent other unnecessary injuries.

I can only assume you didn't play baseball. Throwing inside is part of the game, and sometimes pitches do get away, that is why the Pirates are very slow to retaliate because they pitch on the inner half of the plate and understand that their guys getting hit is part of doing business. Pitchers have to be able to throw inside or every hitter would be leaning over the plate. What is happening to Cutch goes beyond that, and he needs to be protected. I wish Cole was pitching yesterday because he would have done more than hit the guy in the foot. As to your other suggestion, it is already illegal for a player to slide way out of the baseline in an attempt to break up a double play. If the base runner is unable to reach the bag when he slides, both he and the hitter are to be called out. It is obviously a judgement call on the part of the umpire. I hope you are not suggesting that all take out slides are banned.

Never could figure it out, why doesn't the batter loose the handle on his bat occasionally? If I were hit regularly, I'd be giving a few messages to the pitchers. First time at the plate, the bat goes past the pitchers head. Throw at me, I'll throw back. This would end the retaliation right away.
