I seriously doubt wrestlers at this level can be "extra" motivated by message board talk. HS yes, but college D-1? Maybe a guy here or there in a small program. But in the B1G -- and at Iowa, no less? No way.

A poster (not this forum) once accused me of costing Matt Brown a B1G championship (2014) because my ragging on Mike Evans somehow gave him extra motivation to beat Brown in the semis. C'mon man.

For the record that was a lighthearted jab at hawk fans over here reading.
Although coaches use this type of material all of the time to motivate athletes, not individual threads mind you, but it might start that way.
