Would PSU score more points at Nationals if Nickal and McCutcheon swapped weight classes?

Because he looked well on his way to doing it last year because tearing his knee up. He had one truly healthy tournament and that was his RS freshman year.
Also because he has beaten a number of All-Americans, and some of them were dominant wins, something like 18-4 over Zavatsky for example.

It was reported on this site that Bo only certed at 184. Of course only the NCAA and PSU know for sure......yeah there may be others. He looks bigger than last year but still undersized. Same with Matt. I don't know the rules for going down a weight, but if they were going to make a run at this, they would have to make it known very soon. I have know idea what these guys weighed in this past weekend st, but if some did know that and knew the rules, then they could make that informed decision. Like Cael.;)
Short version on the rules:
Max cut 1.5% BW per week.
Must be down by 2/15 to be eligible at that weight for the postseason.

And the other big one: only matches wrestled at that weight can be used for determining auto qualifiers or for seeding at the B10 and NCAA tournaments.

Bo doesn't look undersized to me at all. And he said himself (at last evening's Coaches Show) that he's cutting more weight this year wrestling 184 than he did last year at 174. Matt is definitely a different situation, as he's gaining weight during the season...not the best circumstance, for sure. The one thing in Matt's favor is how closely everyone involved (Matt, Coaches, Medical, folks that help with nutrition, etc.) are helping to insure it's all "good" weight.

Nickal beats both Pfarr and Studebaker, I know that.

What I don't know is how well Mouse would do at 184.

I don't think you truly appreciate the difference between competing 23 pounds heavier and jumping 2 weight classes. This kind of leap is not only rare, it's incredibly difficult at this level when so many guys have been competing around there for years.

Yes, ditto Bo going to 197 at this point in the season... No way you roll the dice like that and put two weight classes into the "?" Category. Would have been difficult to jump Bo 2 weight classes in the off-season (i.e., gain that much quality weight that quickly), let alone have him attempt a 2nd weight-class jump mid-season!

Would love to see a folk style match between Bo and Pfarr. I think it would be pretty entertaining.

Entertaining? Does anybody really think letting Bo run his offense basically unimpeded hoping to score with an ankle throw by is a workable game plan? At this point in their careers Bo beats Pfarr as convincingly as he beat Dudley.

So are you suggesting that none of Bo's matches are entertaining because he smashes them?

The ankle pass worked once in their freestyle meeting. Pfarr also in on several singles and finished a few. Yes I understand both are better and different wrestlers.

Pfarr is 2-0 vs Dudley in his career.

I would find the matchup entertaining. Love watching both wrestle. Sorry if you disagree.
