And how do you expect them to do that with such a minimal amount of NL money? Only 25-ish of these people in the entire country every year and once the SEC Ohio State places like USC or Clemson get theirs there’s only about 4 or 5 left
Many are chasing the $. Hopefully PSU can sign a high 4 Star DL & OL, then hold onto all verbals. I know, best case scenario. Like many others on this board I wait until LOI day because verbals are so fluid (here today, gone tomorrow).
PSU doesn’t have a minimal amount of NIL. They're just well behind OSU, USC, OR.
Where is the proof we don't have NIL money to spend? And if we don't have that it's on Franklin to fix it
I'm not mad about how recruiting is going but the second you start using NIL as an excuse you're basically criticizing Franklin for his inability to find the money. That's as important as any aspect of his job

We haven't won a title since 86. The parents of some of our recruits weren't alive then.
We've never made a playoff. We have fo catch a lot of teams. This would be like saying Syracuse won a title before and therefore can't need to "catch Oregon". What does a title nearly 40 years ago have to do with the current state of the programs?

I think we should get at least 1 five-star recruit annually. On average we should get 2. On a good year we should get 3 or more.

Iverson Howard and Malik Washington are two local recruits MD just got and let’s just say that neither one of them have family or friends who could keep their mouth shut about how much money Maryland offered them to sign. Kevin Plank, SVP, Shawn Merriman etc are going to make getting all the DMV guys tough
We are having a very good recruiting season and yet our unrealistic fans complain….. unbelievable. This is not 1975 when western PA is the high school football powerhouse of the United States producing “5 stars.” We are a good solid high school football state, but not a great state anymore. We have to heavily recruit Maryland, Virginia, and NJ to solidify each class. And even if PA was still at its peak in high school football, we don’t have a Phil Knight level alum to fund the necessary NIL to land those 5 stsrs.
