I'm loving the absurdity. Bama makes the playoff by sitting home.

Auburn would have been in the playoff without an SEC conference championship game, having recently beaten both Bama and Georgia. But Bama goes to the playoff after sitting at home yesterday. Beautiful.

Meanwhile, the BIG championship game is meaningless for a second year in a row, because the best team in the conference had to play its 3 biggest division games back to back to back, with 2 on the road.

Finally, the PAC 12 champ gets left out, after their schedulers decide to have USC play on the road on a Saturday, then play on the road again the next Friday at Wazzu.

Now, we get a Big 12 and an SEC team in the Rose Bowl this year. No BIG or PAC 12 team to be found in Pasadena.

It serves them all right.

Yossarian would be proud.

Goes to show, the key now to the CFP is do not lose games, two losses is a killer, conference champion or not. Also don't lose big and don't lose to mediocre teams.

Clemson lost to Syracuse. They're not even mediocre. I think Clemson should be in but there really seems to be no rhyme nor reason to what the committee considers.

I hear ya, but we knew that last season based on how the final 4 went.

I am figuring out how the heck Whisky is ranked 6......Beat no one all season and their offense put up a woeful 10 points last night (and the touchdown drive was a result of a TO where they got the ball at the 50).....If Barrett had any accuracy last night, OSU by 3 TDs
