Indiana-Ohio State

Jerry McGinn of Malvern is the referee. It' one of the best if not the best crew in the league. Doing Ohio State no favors, that was a little bit of a cheap call.

People always say this and they're wrong. He was going through he progressions and deliver the ball correctly. He never saw the back because he wasn't nearly that far through. That would have been his fourth read.

Klatt called it out. Said he'd wish he'd have waited a tick longer.

Klatt said that and he's wrong...presnap the LB was on the back...he stumbled which is why he would have been open. I dislike Howard but he did nothing wrong there.

I am really disliking this Fox broadcast. Gus Johnson comes with that annoying stretch of syllables when he wants to have emphasis. Joel Klatt, who I would normally like, has said that they are calling pass interference "close," and that this favors Indiana. Those first two calls against OSU #1 were blatant PA. Not even close to debatable.

The Indiana D is overmatched. Ohio State O-line is just fine. Nice call by Day to go for it on 4th down -- converting that one was a real statement. And Howard that time made a great throw with a guy in his face.

One thing you learn if you read this board long enough; it's always better for us if Ohio St wins. Even when they're playing us.

If they actually call PI this joker Klatt says their calling it close?

No, in both cases the uh-high-ya clearly grabbed the WR nearly as the ball got there.

isn't contact only legal w/I 5 yards of line of scrimmage?
Hence if you beat them off the LOS there's no issue
But football at all levels allows contact beyond 5 yards. If that was called we'd never see a play without a flag

I don't like throwing short of the sticks on 3rd and short. I know OSU WR > IU anybody but IU is sitting in zone. Even if he was open, it was gonna require a broken tackle to get 1st down yardage at a minimum and maybe a second.

Klatt is very OSU-sided today so far. He's been against all of the penalties, all of which were obvious and easy calls. I can see why some are confusing him with Herbie, but it's sort of comical to not know Herbie doesn't call Fox games.

Yep, that is how a team that knows it's better than it's opponent should play. But I don't see Franklin doing that in the same situation, although I believe PSU is also better than IU.

Maserati Marv. The World Famous Ohio State University. Gus Johnson is unwatchable. Klatt is usually fair, but seems off with his assessment of the penalties so far.

Herbie being the face of ESPN should give that away lol
I don't like that either. They've done it a few times...I don't like the decision to run run run run....cost them points

Looks like uh-high-ya should have learned to put their TE in for a "Warren leap" on 4th and short.....
