Indiana-Ohio State

Herbie being the face of ESPN should give that away lol
I don't like that either. They've done it a few times...I don't like the decision to run run run run....cost them points

IU defense came out with 7 DL there. Basically dared OSU to pass or even for Howard to pull it.

Cig is definitely methodical. When it works, you are a genius.

Hence if you beat them off the LOS there's no issue
But football at all levels allows contact beyond 5 yards. If that was called we'd never see a play without a flag
obviously it's being allowed. But according to the rules you can't impede the receiver beyond the 5 yard point.

In a blink and you will miss it score, UMass leads Georgia 7-0 with 6 minutes left in the 1st quarter.

BC is looking good today. Maybe they can give Pitt their 5th straight loss next week.

Which if we know it's allowed why are we complaining about it. We do it too.
you need to go back to my original response...I posted that OSU held/PI on our receivers . Supposedly the refs plan was to let them play. Doesn't negate that our receivers were held.
If the refs don't follow the rulebook, then every call is subjective

And thats why we can't worry about the officials...I'm confused. You're making my argument for me

somehow, I don't see it that way. If the officials aren't going to follow the rules, why do we even need them?
The rules create the guidelines. Again, if the rules were followed to the letter we'd never have an actual play happen. A flag would always be thrown.

Yet you're not okay when it's not called both ways as it was in our game?
It just has to be consistent. It was then. We'll see how it goes today

No. It has to be called as it is. A penalty is a penalty.

My issue with officiating is that they have already corrupted the game. It should be easy to identify holding and interference. You grab or hook; that is holding. You hold when the ball is in the air; that is interference. You bump a receiver out of his route when the ball is in the air; that is interference.

ok, now I see your point...we have rules but we can't follow them because that would ??????

so lando just see that play in the end zone.. defensive back was all over the receiver before the ball got there...no penalty.

lol talking crap in 2nd quarter. See what you have to say when Indiana gets smoked
I'm looking forward to IU getting smoked. Then uh-high-ya can get beat up in the B10 championship game, where maybe they even win. IU drops down in the playoff rankings and maybe PSU even gets to play them at home in the first round.

I don't understand your confusion here. If you want a penalty called on every play, exactly what you're saying, then fine. Just complain every single play when there isn't one

And that's a judgment call based on the rules. It's also why it's best to "let them play" so it's consistent.

but similar play was called PI on OSU.....

That non call on IU was similar to the 2nd play of the game non call on OSU. Not similar to the ones called. Defender arrived early, but Smith slowed up and jumped early on a ball that sailed on Howard.

I'm not saying that I want a flag called on every play, just follow the rules (or change them if you want)..
People/coaches react to what penalties the refs are calling. Remember the beginning of the NFL season? Offensive tackes have Ben "Cheating" to the backfield to get better angles on blocking D ends. Refs stared calling "too many in the backfield". Lo and behold coaches started emphasizing this and the violations stopped. Start calling the PI/holding violations and coaches/players will adjust.

Coaches react trying to get the next call
DBs can't play the game as the rules are written
Also in the NFL did it stop or did they stop calling it?

I am not sure why TOSU keeps trying to run the ball
