Way too early but I believe they only lose Murin and Lugo? We lose Cenzo, Markie, Shak, Berge. So is this the look?
Lions...
Meredith
RBY
Lee
Verkleeren
Pipher
Manville
Starocci
Brooks
Beard
Nevills

That's not a prediction, just wanted to see what our actual lineup will be. If that ends up being the lineup then Iowa has upper hand most likely.

No way Joe Lee sits out next year. He's going to be special and a big part of the last five new murderers row

How did we lose Berge?

Probably a good chance that Howard (if he can make 125) and/or Bartlett (141/149 depending on N Lee's weight) work their way into the line-up as well

Also, wouldn't be surprised if we see Berge at 165 as he looked next level at 74kg in freestyle last year before the concussion.

Berge has two years of eligibility left. Maybe a third if he gets a medical for last year.

Absolutely they're the preliminary favorite, as a whole their team might get better (everyone is a year older and they essentially replace Lugo with Eierman) but they won't be bigger favorites because I think the field as a whole gets tougher with Michigan, Cornell bringing back a ton and Ohio State and Oklahoma State possibly adding in a ton of freshman.

TnT might have to get creative with the lineup next year. Young looks pretty miserable at 157 by now, he could probably take one for the team one more year but he did not look good at the end of this year. Max would need to go 149 if Eierman wants 141.

Cornell and Pokes etc will definately disperse some points at Nationals, but Im picking Iowa at Bigs again. Although our boys will make them EARN it, being its in our house.

So true on Young, he looks sucked down.

It's been opined on here by posters in the know that Howard will not beat Meredith in the room

Kemmerer needs to get back another year which I don’t think happened yet but safe to assume will.

This would be a shock to me, are you implying that you dont think Howard would qualify for nationals? I dont think Cael goes after guys as hard as he did Howard if he doesnt think they help our team.
Krispy Kreme can't have a plausibly intelligent discussion here without a steam shovel full of self-righteous trollery.

No serious person would say Howard "can't" beat Meredith. Certainly not anyone "in the know."

So either Krispy Kreme distorted someone's post, or he assigned "in the know" status to someone who isn't --- either way, intending to troll everyone here.

Could next year also be affected by a year delay of the Olympics? Canada just pulled all athletes for this year and are urging a one year delay.

I think you got 6 of 10 correct, IMO

Yup. If we remember DD/KK when he was just KK on the other board, we would know that he does not say his real thoughts. He just does a Chris Elliot schtick for maximum annoyingness. Don’t take the bait. #poormansborat #homelessmansalig

2 -25

That's our record in Big Ten duals the last 3 years ... one of those wins came by forfeit.

Gotta love the fight we've seen from all our 125 #ers, but Cael has been looking hard for a solution since the Jersey kid left ... Kuhn, Teasdale, Teske now Howard.

I agree with you, if Robbie can't win the spot then hopefully that means Meredith is much improved. If Howard does win the spot I suspect Cael will pull his shirt.

Honestly - whether Robbie and Beau wrestle depends on one thing IMO: how much can they score at nationals?

If they're middle of the pack B1G, it might be an improvement for dual purposes but no point in burning a redshirt if Cael only sees them scoring under 5 points at Nationals.

Historically, Cael only seems to summon true freshman if he thinks they're ready to really help the team race and the results speak for itself. Zain, Nico, Nick Lee, AB this year ...

Zain and Nick's points were more or less the difference. Nico placed 2nd as a 10 seed and helped us score 140+ AB looked like he could legitimately be our first true freshman champ this year. RBY wasn't needed in 2019 but he AA'ed in the hardest weight class ever.

Nico finished 5th at B10s as a FR. Would we consider that middle of the pack?

If the Olympics are delayed until 2021, which appears likely, I hope there are no Olympic Redshirts next season. ORs created such a weird, kind of boring season long before Corona Virus finally shut the season down. I can’t imagine anyone wants another year of a water drowned product. I also hope the NCAA reevaluates the criteria for ORs in the future.

I believe that Mark Hall was our first true freshman champ in 2017.

"AB looked like he could legitimately be our first true freshman champ this year."

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. But Hall was our first true freshman national champ. Maybe you were saying something else.

Iowa looks awfully tough on paper but a lot of talent will be coming back off of ORS and I think several teams are set to make big improvements.

OkSt and PSU both will be somewhat dependent on who they decide to RS. Cornell, Michigan and OhSt will also be much improved.

A much more competitive year across the board evens the playing field to a degree.

Too many variables for now, including the hated one that bit Penn State more than our share this season.

The NCAA rules will be in force, imo, as they apply to all sports. Highly unlikely for the NCAA to change the Olympic Redshirt language. This adds another variable.

On paper, Penn State will surely be in the mix, and with the hoped-for, and expected, development of the younger guys (including the newbies), 2020-21 has the early makings of a fun season.

We will see a drop off at 165 and 174, as I would not peg any freshman to come in and be a national title favorite, but not a huge one, as I would expect both guys can low AA. But, from where we were at at the end of this season, I think we will be improved at 197 and Hwt. 125, 149 and 157 have the potential to be better, as well, depending on how injuries heal and room battles work out. Bottom line is that I think we will be better positioned at the beginning of next season to challenge Iowa than we were at the end of this season. With so many changes, I am really looking forward to see how the season progresses. There is much fun to be had.

Over react much? If you need, we can find the post and pull it back out. The post said that there is "no way" Howard is beating Meredith.

This is what KK always did. Say another something Chris-Elliot-level inane and stupid. Then play persecuted martyr. There were kind people who defended him, and so the entire forum was all KK all the time. I hope we have learned to not take the bait and to not participate in his weird performance art. #poormansborat

[Yes, this post is participating, in a meta way. I hope the benefit outweighs the noise.]

I need to take a lap, sorry guys.
Don't beat yourself up McScoreley, we're going to see a lot of PSU records set and change on an annual basis, with this great coaching staff and the caliber of recruits putting on the PSU singlet. As a PSU wrestling fan, it's a great problem to have to deal with!

Yes, but he peaked two weeks later.
If the Olympics is delayed a year, would Kerk take an Olympic redshirt, since he has said Olympics is his goal all along? That would give Seth a full year as a starter (assuming He’s healthy). Or would Kerk do a Snyder like schedule? No disrespect intended toward Seth in assuming Kerk beats him...just going with generally accepted opinion. Would we be in “danger” of having any other starters take Olympic redshirts? Brooks maybe? With one more year of training and maturity he might be competitive on Senior level given his background and talent. Could be we be looking at a punt year?

Jammen without the charm.

Though, unlike Jammen, he gets treated better on HR than here.
