Is this game in danger of not being a sellout?

I’m a season ticket holder. Two tickets. Usually take one of my kids. Neither could go. Couldn’t believe how many people I had to ask to go before someone wanted to. Too close to Xmas or too cold for everyone.

Maybe it was the company. :)

I doubt it will work out but if club seats open up for under $100, I'm going. I got a pair for the Maryland game for $75 a piece and enjoyed being able to warm up a few times.

To park near the stadium for this week's Ravens/Steelers game will cost you between $143 and $395.

I'm sure you can park in the city for less than that. You can also park in State College for less than that (or for free if you know what you are doing).

The only real reason to park near the stadium is if you are hosting a tailgate. Which is great! But then you obviously spending way more than that on food and beverage so what's another $100.
I park within two blocks of the stadium complex in Baltimore for $15. There are plenty of places to park around M&T Bank stadium that are the same or less walking distance as the Beaver Stadium lots.

It does bring a question of why he would have Norm’s suit?
I explained that already. It was auctioned off by NLC when they cleaned out Rec Hall after BJC was built. No one wanted it because the head was just the football helmet with lion face. No fur. I called the family that supplies the Lion costumes to the Cheerleading Department and they happily restored it for me. They identified it as Norm’s original costume circa 1978-80.

tOSU/Tenn game in the same situation. I was told that a cheat code allowing VIPs to buy early leaked and vast amount of tickets went to brokers for all games. NCAA still figuring this playoff stuff out especially in venues never used before.

The PSU presale code was posted online all over PSU forums as well. I was surprised they used the same code for everyone. I was expecting a unique purchase window for NLC members in order of point total but I guess there may not have been enough time for that, and with the CFP running things they may have cared less about NLC membership and points.

Again, you must be new to Penn State football and sports in general.

A playoff game doesn't make it the biggest. In fact, our game versus Ohio State on November 2nd was bigger than this game.
A regular season game is bigger than our first ever playoff game in PSU history? Not sure if you’re being serious.

Been going to games since ‘93 when I was 5/6 years old. And as a true fan unlike you I’ll be traveling in for the game from Florida.

It's great that you are traveling. But it doesn't change that fact that it isn't the biggest home game in the history of the program. To most Penn State fans, it probably wouldn't rank in the top 10 or 20 games.

Biggest “home” game for the 3rd time.
But most people don't care that it's the biggest home game and the price of tickets prove that. It's a weak opponent the weekend prior to Xmas in a game we should win comfortably.
Going would also mean missing other playoff games which many are unwilling to do. They want to see the better games.

I would assume this will come back and bite PSU in the ass in future seeding for home games (IF it is close to that 9, 10 seed).. Money is what CFB is all about for the foreseeable future and the playoffs (committee) will not look highly on past teams home tickets prices being WAY lower than other programs. All of these future games will be played around Xmas, so that excuse can't be used. Everyone is playing at the same time!

I can't see TN, GA, MI, FL , etc vs SMU being at current PSU ticket level prices.

The bitching will be unprecedented when PSU has to go on the road as a 9 or 10 seed... But, nobody will see it coming because of Xmas and it is too cold..

Look at the NCAA basketball tournament for stupid ass seedings and why they do it....

We sold over 100k seats. There's no impact. Very few others can do that. Not understanding the angst over a couple tickets

Extremeley disappointed in the PSU fanbase for the first time in my life.

The history of the world didn’t start when you attended your first game. In 1982 Penn State beat a Nebraska team stacked with future (and likely present at the time) pros ranked #2 in the twilight of Beaver Stadium on their way to their first national title.

just the fact that's it's not going to be a sellout tells you all you need to know about how people feel. Pretty sure there's only one person that thinks this is the biggest home game ever.

Sadly, the "biggest game" was probably the horrible loss to Michigan in 97, Two undefeated teams ranked 2 and 4. '05 Ohio State and '82 Nebraska are probably the top 3
Playoff game makes this more important but it's still SMU

Just to add '85 Bama (I think 85) and '82 Pitt in the mix as well

PSU fans are soft is what it tells me. So this is not a big game to you? We finally made the playoff and now, eh who cares?

The CFP doesn't give two shits about resale price...

This game will have the most tickets sold of any game this weekend and the only team that will ever surpass that number would be if Michigan hosted a game.

So only the biggest home game in 27 years? Got it
