us don't ruin the Penn State reputation of being great hosts. But, I guess there will always be those "idiots". I'm glad Coach had the perseverance to stay on after his stroke. It's a shame people make fun of him. Strokes are not to be made fun of.

Someone who makes a fool of themselves and PSU. Gameday is here because the 2017 team is doing great and we have a Heisman Trophy canidate, and some people want to ruin it. Not realizing these actions will not do anything to hurt ESPN and only drive the people who call us a "cult" or "enablers". If people want to focus on how butthurt they are about ESPN or make it about the past, social media will destroy us, and completely backfire. Why not Just enjoy it for what itis? It's a great recruiting tool and a symbol that we are in a huge game and back at the top. DO you think the current, students, players, or coaches appreciate some of this ant-gameday crap?

An honor?? Yeah, we should all get on our knees and pray toward Bristol, CT, in order to thank them for the great honor they chose to bestow upon us. C'mon dude. ESPN is just a television network. It's not an "honor" when they do anything.

So this comment by Lee Corso was ok during the Nebraska game post Joepa firing??

No matter how much you don't like it, Gameday coming is still seen as a big deal to recruits and our current players. Living in 2011-2012 instead of focusing the success of our team does no one any good, and proves/solves nothing.

It'll be an honor to have them sit on a national stage and talk about Sandusky, the University's and Paterno's "alleged" coverup, the sanctions (not once mentioning how wrong it was by the NCAA), how the university has taken a hit against its reputation and how Joe Paterno, with all the accolades he had received in his life, died with a tarnished legacy?
From that perspective - and I give the over under of less then 10 minutes into the broadcast until the first comment is made - I don't want them on campus.

From the perspective of the team is doing very well the last two seasons, it is a hyped up white out where they will play a very tough opponent, the team has a Heisman Trophy candidate, the team is led by an incredible staff and is making a legitimate push towards a playoff berth, I am all in.

But unfortunately, unneeded shots will be taken at the program, Joe's legacy and the university.

I will agree with the OP, making signs to mock out those on the stage will not do anything to restore the university's reputation.

Apologies for the rant.

It was six years ago, let it go... What's a sign going to do about now. My ex-girlfriend is a crappy human being maybe I should go stand in her yard with a sign, who looks like the "idiot" in that situation.
Yeah move on...no big deal just a hit and run...let it go. Thank you,may we have another? All is well. Tuff on those who had their lives destroyed. We get Game Day...oh boy!

It was addressed back when it happened with the explanation that there was someone on set running errands and getting them coffee and whatnot, and Corsi's mic was on while looking for him. Makes a lot more sense than him trying to get in a dig at PSU that wouldn't make a lot of sense in the context.

I'm sorry, but I don't see it as an honor - I see it as an obligation that must be met when the team is #2 in the country.

However, despite some of my previous comments on this matter, I will agree that PSU fans should not make fools of ourselves in front of the ESPN Gameday set. I don't think ESPN will allow the signs, that some of us would like to hold up, anywhere near the GameDay set. I think they police that stuff, although I am sure some things get through.

Regardless of the Judge's decision tomorrow, I don't think this will be the prime story on ESPN. Actually, they have already made up their minds on it, and have a lot to discuss in college football - this past weekend's upsets, potential coaching changes in college football, the "rise" of TCU, and the games this weekend. There may be some mention of the judge's decision, but I don't think they are going to waste 90 minutes of their show on it.

If you've ever seen gameday, then you're likely aware of the sheer number of coordinated "idiots" it would require to produce an effect appreciable from the home viewer's standpoint.

And to state my position for the record: I still despise the network for their role in trashing PSU, and I also can appreciate that this team will benefit from the exposure and that these students likely didn't share in my experience.

So where do I fall on your idiot continuum?

Did you see some of the signs TCU fans had about people from West Virginia? If they allowed those then they certainly should allow those similar to what we're talking about.

Does ESPN employ little kids to get coffee for the on-air talent?

I respectfully disagree with it being considered an "honor". That's just way over the top IMO. It's a business decision by espn for what they think is the best game of the week (or top 2-3 games that week) and what they think will bring them the best ratings. Nothing more.

While I disagree with nonsense like stink bombs etc I have no problem with anyone taking shots at espn with funny signs. IMO the best signs will be those that are clever and take shots at Barron/BoT, ESPN, Desmond, Herbstreit and his "eye test", declining espn market share, etc.

For anyone going- be creative and take your shots but be respectful. IMO the best way is the Irish approach- the ability to tell someone to go to hell where they look forward to making the trip ;)

To make in impact on the broadcast it takes a lot. Wouldn't take more than a handful of pictures taken and posted for "the cult" to start trending online however. You can look like an idiot without the help of college game day presented by the home depot as our friend from rutgers demonstrates below.

To bad this game wasn't in November in a snow storm. I'd love to see someone pelt Corso in the noggin with a snowball. One of those ones you make the night before and stick in your freezer.

I agree that Gameday is not an honor. I don't think that was a great choice of words, although, like an honor, it is something that needs to be earned, by winning. What Gameday is, however, is an opportunity to showcase the University and the football program to the nation. Signs that say negative things about the University do not help the cause.

Folks say they don't like when ESPN mentions the scandal. If that's the case, then maybe you shouldn't create a sign that will remind them of it!

As others have said, the so-called protesters will be so outnumbered by normal fans who are there to have fun and enjoy a great game and college football atmosphere, they will go completely unnoticed. Either that or you'll look similar to the liberals who snuck into Trump rallies and yelled at him as they were escorted out. You will just look like a whack job.

Its no HONOR - I dont's give two sh$t's about them. Good that we get additional exposure but if they set up at Old Main I won't ever see them - maybe Friday in passing as I leave a bar. Last time when they were at the BJC it held my attention for like 2 seconds - it's just a stupid clown show.

Its a shame. Some of these people will use their "love" of Joe to embarrass themselves, the university and Joe himself. The best revenge is to live well. Show our pride for PSU and appreciation for this team and it's CURRENT coach.

Yup lets hit old men in the face with solid balls of ice. Great strategy. Absolutely a good look.

Maybe honor is not the right word. However, it sure as heck is a sign that PSU football is back in the national spotlight and, as PSU fans, we should take the opportunity to show the world that we are not who they make us out to be. Our team and its coaches are all class and are making the school proud. I hope that we, as fans and alumni, follow their example.

Where exactly has the high road taken us? How many times have signs/tshirts making fun of Paterno or "Ped State" made their way into the public eye via various forms of media (ESPN included)? How many here have had negative words/glances cast our way since the scandal based on the narrative created by the ESPN's of the world?

Now we get the "honor" of having them grace our campus with their piece of shit jolly fest and we're supposed to open our arms and roll out the red carpet? Fvck no! We've had to pay consequences for their lies, while they just keep on keepin on....I can't wait until they have to close up shop for good in Bristol. The sooner the better. And I applaud anyone who publically bashes them during their trip to HV.

Call me bitter and forgive me for eschewing my Judeo-Christian values. Eye for an eye is long past due.

You mean it's no HONOUR....how's that for a call back?:)

An honor? You diminish the word by attaching it to Game day. It's an honor to serve your country. It's an honor to love your wife well. Penn State being on Gameday? Just stupid. Watch that you don't fall off that high moral horse you've climbed up on in order to look down on us rubes. Suck it.

Yeah, hold up signs that make you look like a bitter a$$hole on national television, that will show ESPN!!!
