Anyone have any more context about this Franklin quote they discussed during the game regarding the struggles Barkley has had on the ground?

I think he's given up on the running game because the offense can score 35 or 40 points regardless. He has to realize this is not the best long-term solution for the program, however.

I'm sure he does but there isn't any time right now to fix them. Need to get through the next two games and then the extra practices will hopefully help them.

There is no clear, definitive answer outside of throwing somebody under the bus. I think the off-season will be interesting, particularly with the early signing period. I think a change will occur somewhere.

Hopefully some guys will get healthy by the bowl game.

Ask Matt Millen. He was rightfully outraged at “Chrome Dome’s” dismissive comment.

Matt appropriately put the onus on Franklin to “fix it”. Sadly, that isn’t yet in his “notebook”

Franklin should watch the Auburn game to see how an OL can dominate a game. They handled the Georgia DL with ease. Way to go Herb!

Don’t know if you realize that auburn has 2 loses Clemson and LSU beat them so their not so great like you say

I’m not saying they’re great. I’m suggesting that their OL coach (Chef Herb) seems to be doing a more than a decent job.

I’m simply pointing out that the problem at PSU the last 3 years isn’t the players or the positional coach. It just might be the individual dictating the goofy-assed blocking scheme.

I’ll give you a hint: it’s not the Offensive Coordinator either. We’re now on OC #2 and nothing’s changed.

It’s Fraudklin.

They won 35 to 6 i guess you dont know how to play team sports.

If this quote from Franklin is real, it’s disrespectful to the players and the fans. Nothing like your HC throwing in the towel.

Moorhead was brought in mostly to overhaul a dysfunctional offense with a poor OL. His system worked well and caught many teams by surprise last year, especially after McSorley became a factor running the ball.

Fast forward to this year's Indiana game and it was clear that Big 10 opponents were not going to let Barkley beat them and were willing to take their chances with the rest of the offense. Except for MSU that strategy has not worked. (Defense primarily lost the OSU game.)

Moorheads's RPO system is not designed to take advantage of an all-world running back. It was the system PSU needed for last year's team to be successful but it no longer caught teams by surprise.

You might as well put on your white robe.

Or watch their game against a good defense where they scored six points. Herb Hand was an embarrassment. Good riddance.

What Franklin has done with this program since he's been here has been nothing short of a miracle.

Big 10 Championship followed by a likely 10 plus win season. We currently have the #2 recruiting class in the country and people are bitching about interview quotes? Really?

And to extrapolate from it that he "disrespected the players and fans" no less. Classic.

A couple bumps in the road (1pt loss to OSU in the shoe and loss on last second fg to MSU) and racist phyrsty is back.

Bingo! Funny how some posters need to change handles. He still wants Franklin to fail. Last 2 years have been tough on the Clorox sheet king.
He has been on a roll lately. He was playing doctor for Moorhead earlier in the week. And he was so well-behaved for a time too. As far as that most serious accusation goes, I don't believe that is his motivation. He was certainly brutal to BOB and Butler too. His tirade after the fateful IU loss resulted in the loss of the ThyrstyPhyrsty handle. I don't think he'll ever recover from Joe no longer coaching though.

It's a bit of both, but he needs a Joe guy. Sadly that BS clouds what will be back to back top 10 finishes. It's a load of BS. Franklin has been great thus far.

I merely expect competence....and I don’t think that’s too much to ask from anyone.

Moorhead is semi-competent, as is his boss. Continually running Barkley on 1st down for little or no gain in order to pad SB’s rushing stats. Really?

Together, they are collaborating on some hair-brained scheme to “get Barkley the Hesiman” at the expense of playing sound, fundamental and team-unifying football.

The Heisman Trophy is more important to Franklin than it is to Barkley.

P.S. Moorhead’s blood pressure is “more than elevated”. Mine would be also ....

This makes no sense.

Only you would say that
