is it crazy to think Joseph weighs as much as Hall or maybe vice versa is better said?

It would be interesting to do like boxing does sometimes and have a weigh in right before finals for comparison s

Hall said in his post-finals press conference he hates losing weight and is staying at 174. Making 74kg a few times a year is okay, but he wants nothing to do with keeping his weight at 165 for an entire folkstyle season.

Conversely, in a Crutchmer interview, he said he was as heavy as 214 this past summer. He shared in response to what his first meal would be, and said because of that he needs to be careful now that he's done with wrestling and hopes to keep his weight around 195 or so.

Still amazed at the apparent size difference between Bo Jordan and Mark Hall in the final. Jordan looked huge; who knows for sure, but they looked to be about 15 pounds different.

Sorry, Bo, it wasn't enough to get you the win.

Mark needs to hit the weights really hard during the off season....Put on 10 pounds of good muscle....He has trouble keeping his weight up at 174.....Hit the weights Mark....But the biggest one who need to hit the weights is Nick Nevills...Needs to put on 15 to 20 pounds of muscle throughout his body including legs...If he does he will be in the finals next year against Snyder and he will give him a good match...Nick has more skill then the guy Snyder wrestled in the finals...He is just not strong enough.....He also needs to do some speed drills for his feet and start getting a lot meaner on the mat !!!! NO MR. NICE GUY....

O$U coach said Snyder deadlifts 700+ lbs. That is an unbelievable # for someone who weighs in at 225 - borderline genetic freak-strong. Not many humans are that strong, and most of us, no matter how much we lift and train, will never be that strong.

also said the Nato does 430lbs...hes only 133lbs

Check out his semi-finals post match press conf. Said his mother thinks he should go down to 165 next season. That comment caught my attention.

Mark's current weight allows for him to wrestle 163 for freestyle, and 174 for folkstyle...

With 5 returning champs in successive weight classes, any idea of changes would have to be carefully considered.

Can Nolf hold 157? He could win at 165, but where would that put Joseph?

Maybe our guys should spend more time in the tanning salon?

I thought Snyder's deadlift not number might have been inflated, after he picked up Medberry, all 280 pounds of him with his locked around him, i have no doubt now. Freaky strong guy.

Ohio state would crush PSU in a powerlifting contest, we just won the team title with 5 individual champions. Our guys are plenty strong in terms of wrestling and functional strength.

Couldn't all 5 move up a weight? Maybe with either Joseph or hall reshuffling? Zane looks good where he's at though, so maybe not a mass shift up.

The problem with Hall adding weight is that he's an athlete and good athletes move fast ( Zahid Valencia worry anyone in the lead up to the nationals ?) there's no guarantee that the extra weight is not just going to slow him down. What I would like to see is VJ filling out and wrestling 174 and Mark listening to his mother and wrestling 165.

15 pounds? LMAO.

More like 30.

There's not much more filling out for Vincenzo to do. He's about as barrel-chested as they come

It looks like FILA is going to a two day tournament format with two weigh-ins. Hall can't gain too much or 74kg two days in a row would be a challenge. He seemed to do just fine at his current weight.

They both won national titles at their current weights.

What more is there to wish for?
Point taken. I love Mark Hall's style and I believe he can open up better at the lighter weight. That having been said Mark seems to agree with you.

10 pound difference at most. Look at Bo's legs. Hall probably weighs 180 right now. Bo in the high 180s.

Have you ever tried to put on as much weight as possible after a weigh-in and then wrestle less than 24 hours later? I have. There is NO WAY Bo could add 30 pounds from Friday to Saturday night and even get through a 7 minute match without getting sick.

I was exaggerating, lmao.

I know what it's like to go against a kid who seems huge for the weight though. At Regionals I went up against a kid from Huntingdon, who went on to be a State Champ, who was just enormous. I remember thinking, oh brother, how am I gonna pull this off.

Lost that one, 7-2. How I got the "2" is still a mystery, lmao.
