Richie Figs gets teched 13-2! Figs got a takedown in the first 5 secs of the match and then got shut down. The Iranian killed him in short offense and pushed him around in the ties. Really disappointing first match.

Not a good first round. Beau looked great. Amos won a close one and the other 3 all lost. Richie Figs, Andonian, and Washington all lost to Iran and all looked gassed at the end which is uncommon for the US. Washington was down 3 and didn’t attempt a single attack in the last 10-12 seconds. Beau looked the best for sure. Scored from a variety of attacks but mainly used a left-side underhook which I don’t remember him using that much in the past. He used it to control ties and then attack single legs which he converted at least 3 times. Very nice match
Bartlett with an 11-0 TF and Amos with a 10-0 TF in their quarter final matches so they will both wrestle for a medal

Beau looked incredible. Way more physical than I remember ever seeing him and he again used his left-side underhook to control the match. Very tough semifinal match against Bayramov from Aze coming up. I think this is the younger Bayramov. The older one is at 74 and just competed in the Olympics.

The semis will take place at 9 am ET. Beau's next opponent is a 2021 U23 European bronze medalist.

It has been said before, but, if Amos and the cut to 197 is not an issue then he is going to be problems for everyone in the NCAA's this year.
Amos wins over Deepak 9-1. was close the whole time till the end, but never in doubt.

Yeah, don’t do Frank like that. Bono is the loudest (sometimes entertaining, often annoying) corner guy on the planet.
so does Manning who I would personally rate as the worst corner guy in D1.
Manning is definitely most annoying. Brands most, um, intense? But I stand by Bono being p4p most decibels.

I have been saying for the past year Brax is the real deal and will take out Ferrari this coming year. I think he is just as strong to counter his power, and a better wrestler.
So bummed we didn't get him ... it seems like his family is really really close with Nick Lee's as well.
I want to see Amos down at weight before I crown him. When he cut down to 92kg in high school, he looked less effective and that was 3 years ago. That extra 17 lbs he has to cut to get down to 197 is a big deal. Look at the difference it made for Snyder his freshman year.
