Junior worlds

Match order for the women's medal matches starting in a few. Kennedy Blades wrestles for gold in the last match on B, so probably not until at least 10:30 am eastern. But Korina Blades will the third match up on C and Alara Boyd right after that on C, both for bronze.

Jaslynn Gallegos up for bronze right now against Russia, 53kg on B.
Gallegos down 4-3 at break, but was nearly pinned.
Gallegos goes for it, nearly gets the pin, gets pinned herself. Echoes of Bo and Myles.

Was crazy thought we had her for a second

Korina Blades, Kennedy's younger sister, up next on Mat C (after this 57kg gold medal match on B), vs Viktoria Oeverby (Norway) for 62kg bronze.

Blades gets the tech 11-1 for bronze, mostly by horsing Oeverby around and going behind, plus some step outs. Nice tournament.

Was tending to my co-home-office-worker's technical problems--again--so missed Alara Boyd's bronze match, but she fell to Estonia's Viktoria Vesso. Boyd was up 5-4 in the second and was looking good to score again on a go-behind but left her head exposed and Vesso turned a headlock into a pin.

Kennedy Blades is a freakin' talent. Junior World Champ! Picks up and decks her finals opponent in the first 15 seconds. She might be the best woman on a very talented junior women's team.

American women win the team title! (4 individual champions)

Pretty tough to pick an OW since Elor, Blades, and Welker all teched or pinned their way through and I don’t think any of them gave up a point! Super impressive. Can’t wait to see Blades vs Welker at trials

NLWC might consider "recruiting" some of these top women before others scoop them up.. Of course, many of the best juniors are either still in college or high school

US finally gets a win in Greco. Bouzakis wins first round but loses in the quarters, and of course Amos is in to the semi's.

Beau was just on Baschamania ... another great episode.

Few things that stood out:
1. Beau talks about adjusting to the room. Like many other hammers, he said he was getting beat bad. He said he wondered if he was even good at wrestling. But now his confidence is sky high.
2. He talks about how he got into graphic design. It's just something that piqued his interest and he did it on a whim and slowly worked to get better at it until it's become a legitimate side hustle for him. The mentality here is what I love, he just wants to continuously improve.
3. He's not overly worried about NIL. He said he is open to opportunities but would rather just focus on wrestling (said it can be awesome and that RBY does it well and does it the right way)
4. He likes freestyle more than folkstyle (like everyone else) But he said the hype behind the colleges of folk style is just so awesome.
5. Here's a major thing ... he doesn't see himself sticking in wrestling very long. Said as of today, he sees himself being an Attorney long term probably. I know Beau originally was committed to Princeton (and went to Wyoming Seminary, a prestigious boarding school) so he obviously is very intelligent. Awesome to see he has a plan in the future.

LOL I KNOW I KNOW THE TRUTH HURTS YOU!!!
Do you really believe that if Zain, Dake, Taylor, Cox, Snyder, and Gable spent their whole lives wrestling nothing but Greco that they would suck?

I sure don’t.

The next phase in the world domination plan is to own the courts....
