Aaron brooks posted a pic of kerk in the PSU wrestling room

IG story.. It goes away after 24 hours but its still there now. It was posted 20 hours ago.

Which social media is that pic on?

Because that pic looks like Instagram, but it's not on either of their Instagram accounts.

I'm not trying to be a PITA. I tried to find it on AB's instagram and can't

I'm just skeptical of things that don't come with links. Things that come with an expiration date to me are like things that get deleted. They weren't real, or weren't meant for public consumption, or etc. As much as I'd like to see Kerk at PSU, hard for me to get excited about anything in those categories.

Also, being unable to find it, also unable to determine its actual date -- not when it was posted, rather when it actually occurred. If the pic really were yesterday, weird that Kerk would come to train at PSU when the coaches are all in Phoenix.

I’m not sure but if you can see it on AOL grandpa.

I’m not going to presume to understand the intent behind the post, but I think most people treat Instagram stories like we treat the social media thread here: Little snapshots of interest that aren’t worthy of the full attention of its own post, but something to share with friends and followers. it’s also Zuckerberg trying to cash in on the success of services like Snapchat, Vine and TikTok. In a world where the digital is presumed permanent, people are finding real value in an illusion (see: this thread) of impermanence.

Let's say he was 235 on nov 1 that's 38 lbs in 10 weeks, hmm that's hard for a guy with so little body fat.

Thought I’d read that Kerk intended to forego the RS year. Maybe he wasnt ready to make the jump to HWT, and knew he couldnt take Moore’s 197 spot. Boy would it be sweet if the 197 idea panned out for us. I think he or Beard would be high AA.

Has the intraconference transfer rule for the B1G been abolished? I know that it hasn't been enforced in recent history, just wondering if they got rid of that rule all together.

I don't believe so. The key is still the release.

Big Ten Intraconference Transfer Rule
15.01.5 Intraconference Transfer Rules
  1. Pre-Matriculation. A prospective student-athlete who has signed a tender from a Conference institution and has not yet triggered transfer status per NCAA Bylaw 14.5.2 (conditions affecting transfer status), is subject to the following intraconference transfer requirements:
    1. Signed National Letter of Intent. A prospective student-athlete who signs a valid National Letter of Intent (NLI) with a Conference institution but subsequently enrolls at an alternate Big Ten institution shall be required to complete one (1) full year of residence at the alternate (i.e., certifying) Big Ten institution. These penalties shall be applied regardless of any decision made by the NLI Steering Committee on behalf of the prospective student-athlete.
      1. Exception—Complete Release by Signing Institution. If the Big Ten institution at which the prospective student-athlete originally signed the NLI grants a “Complete Release” from the NLI, the prospect shall be permitted to enroll at any other Conference institution without penalty.
      2. Exception—NLI Declared Null and Void. Should the NLI become null and void prior to the prospective student-athlete’s matriculation, the prospective student- athlete shall be free to enroll at any other Conference institution without penalty.
    2. Signed Tender without National Letter of Intent. A prospective student-athlete that signs a valid tender with a Conference institution but subsequently enrolls at an alternate Big Ten institution shall be required to complete one (1) full academic year of residence at the alternate (i.e., certifying) Big Ten institution.
  2. Post-Matriculation. A student-athlete that has signed a tender from a Conference institution and has triggered transfer status per NCAA Bylaw 14.5.2 (conditions affecting transfer status), may not represent an alternate Big Ten institution in intercollegiate athletics competition until the individual has completed one (1) full academic year of residence at the alternate (i.e., certifying) Big Ten institution.
  3. Pre- and Post-Matriculation Exceptions
    1. Cancellation of Tender due to Inadmissibility. When a prospective student-athlete is inadmissible to the institution for which a tender has been accepted, the tender shall be considered null and void and the intraconference transfer penalty does not apply.
    2. Dropped Sport. When a Conference institution drops the student-athlete’s sport in which the student-athlete has participated, the intraconference penalty does not apply.
    3. Graduate Student. When a student-athlete with remaining eligibility has completed a baccalaureate degree at a Conference institution and subsequently enrolls in a post-baccalaureate program (e.g. graduate or professional school) at an alternate (i.e. certifying) Big Ten institution, the intraconference transfer rule does not apply.

Thanks for the clarification as always Roar. My next question would be does anyone know if Kerkvliet was granted a full release from tOSU?

Google: Greg Kerkvliet weight

First result:
"Back in September of this year, Kerkvliet told Steelwood Radio that he weighed about 235 pounds but wanted to get up to 250 pounds.Nov 1, 2019"

Stick a fork in 197.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I completely made up the Kerk to 197 post. I have NO information whatsoever. I just got tired of the negative posts about Conel ...and to an extent....Beard. So I posted the Kerk to 197 "Rumor" on this and the "Ready to see Beard?" thread as a distraction. Worked really well too. It was either that or shake my car keys :)
