Keystone Classic Thread

Cortez did not shoot very much in the match. Got ridden hard and long in the 2nd. That was the difference.

Yes, and for a guy that is supposed to be a hammer on top, he rode for a combined 15 seconds with a takedown and riding opportunity in the third. RT was 1:10

Mat 2
ZPain & then Nolf.

Racciato for Pitt.

Zain w a single. TD.

Riding high. Going to work. Almost a tilt. Legs in now. Over 1RT

Racciato rolls over but no NF. Zain working. Foot up.

Breaks free and reversal by Racciato. Zain really cranked but fell off.

Escape Zain. 3-2.

Zain rolls thru a Racciato shot. TD. 5-2.

Period ends when Zain cranking on Racciato. 5-2.

Zain escape. 6-2. Single into a double. Zain turning in. Stalemate.

High single Zain. TD. 8-2.

Tilt off the hammer lock. 4NF. 12-2. More swipes. Sinks the half. FALL !!!!

Even if Cortez finishes in March about where Conaway finished, seems likely he's going to pick up early round bonus points where Conaway didn't.

Liked Conaway better...more action, tougher. The guy from Drexel Cortez just lost to is the typical early round guy. Cortez has always been a 6-3 or 5-4 guy against decent competition. This could improve as the season goes along but he has had over a year in your room. In unrelated news, Mizzou looking like a very tough squad.

Hard to comment without seeing, but why didn't Cortez attack, attack, attack in the third period to at least generate a stalling point if his opponent just continually went backwards?

simple answer is that is how he wrestles against top competition. He slows it and himself down.

he also got his E in the 2nd and had 52secs left and didnt do anything then either.

I love zain but if you were going to bet he would pin Mickey, I would have taken that. D@mn

Headlock from standing by Nolf.

It's tight.

Wentzel finally rolls out. 6-1.

Long Stoppage.

Nolf whizzers out of a single along the edge.

Nolf gets a TD off a double.

Huge bloody nose on Nolf. First ends. 8-1 Nolf.

Nolf is a bloody mess. Lol

Nolf choose down. 2nd.

Nolf reversals after a few mat returns.

NF off a half. 14-2

Nolf just went w NF with his legs ?? Ref never counted it. FLO guys going nuts.

Reversals Pitt kid. 16-4. Feed went dead.

17-4 escape

TD. Tech. Nolf wanted the cradle. Lol.

I was more surprised that Cortez couldn't ride for 20 seconds in the 3rd to erase the RT advantage.

the final points were on the last move by walsh, but Cenzo i think would have held on 6-5. that took the sting from the cortez snoozer
