What was the final score of the Joseph match? Did he win 6-5?, 8-5?, 10-5, pin? He was winning 6-5 and the last comment was that he put his opponent to his back, but nothing after that other than he won...

dont look now but hall is losing 5-6 after 2.
sorry was doing something else.
start of 3
release 5-7
lots of running by CMU
CMU shoots gets a shoe lace, mark spins out long time before SM
restart mark w immediate TD and release 7-8. stalling for CMU
mark loses.
7-8
the world ends

Criminy.
I'm selling all my stock and going underground.
7-8
the world ends

Hall loses to Brucki 8-7. Takedowns were 3-0 Hall and was never in danger of giving up a takedown. Gave up a 4 point tilt however. Yeesh. 2-1 takedown sequences can be frustrating sometimes.

Wow. Maybe the late release by Hall wasn't a great idea??

Why did he release rather than go for a turn (doesn't appear CMU had RT-adv)? Think it was a case where his Free instincts took over and made a tactical error?

To be fair Chief we have seen more Conaway than a young Cortez.

I do believe Cortez is 22 years old and this is his third year in a program. I've seen guys
Take the next step mentallly and physically and perhaps he will. Usually the surprise development guys are ones who are not credentialed and did not wrestle year around. Cortez is very steady and will always keep it close win or lose.

Whether you denigrate Cortez or minimize Cenzo beating Walsh on your board, I'm quite confident there are less holes in PSU's lineup than there are in black and gold. Though just my 2 cents.

Jered had 20 college bouts going into this year (18-2 record, all in open tournies). I'm quite confident he'll continue to improve under the guidance of Cael and his staff.

PSU is loaded.... no one comes close with their upside. They don't need Hall this year with Morelli and Rasheed battling at 174. Looks like Jimmy G. and Moss will battle at 141. Otherwise, the other 8 weights could/ should AA with plenty of bonus points around. Lehigh should be a good test in two weeks but they should win 7-8 matches, at least. Team is a meat grinder!

Liked Conaway better...more action, tougher. The guy from Drexel Cortez just lost to is the typical early round guy. Cortez has always been a 6-3 or 5-4 guy against decent competition. This could improve as the season goes along but he has had over a year in your room. In unrelated news, Mizzou looking like a very tough squad.
Lmao it's his ****ing 5th match of the year

I don't think Chief is denigrating Cortez. It is a fact that Cortez has a lot of very close low scoring matches against good competition. But he has looked more offensive so far this year (outside today's loss) so I'm still optimistic. He will be a high AA

Some setbacks today, but Cenzo looking very good and the early season performances at 174, 197 and Heavy more than offset that. Iowa and tOSU already dinged up. Need more data on the Cowboys but many of their guys don't have much room to climb.
