Latest in Paterno v NCAA

http://www.letitgopa.com/

There will be other threads.

Oh yea, there will be threads, lots of jibber jabber, lots of smoke. So McQueery's GJ testimony has been finally published here in Philly land. Does it answer your questions, or does it just raise more questions? Does everybody believe his testimony? I guess Bradley and Shiano are squirming. I am looking forward to their testimony. The BoT can't save themselves by throwing Scrap and Shiano under the bus and it won't save Joe either.

It goes back to 1998, Joe fired Sandusky and then the BoT gave Sandusky an office on campus and the keys to the kingdom. Why? Why would they do that? I have been asking that question for 5 years. That is the seminal moment, the smoking gun, the authorship of our misery, the moment the pooch was screwed and there is a storm coming.

Do you really think keeping this particular thread alive is going to answer any of those questions? What is it about this particular thread that makes you think that if we let it die then none of those questions will eventually be answered? This one has run its course. It's way past its natural lifetime. Let it die. There will be other threads.

Yea, but it's sad to see it go. This thread is epic. Quite possibly the greatest thread ever be created...

Am I keeping this thread going or is the media, the news keeping it going?

The media, in this case Philly newspapers published an article that MM testified that he told Scrap about what he saw in that locker room and that others were, well, the usual he said, she said routine. Bradley and Schiano deny all of that testimony.

I apologize for missing something here. The part I missed was that MM told anyone other than Joe about what happened in the locker room. I have spent the last 5 years living with the understanding that MM went to Joe and that Joe is the Bad Guy for not going over the top and bringing down Sandusky. Now suddenly, to me anyway, 5 years later, GJ testimony is released that confuses me as to what did who did to whom, ah... when? With both Bradley and Schiano now involved, and, they seem to be sliding in shit. Honestly I am thinking WTF, shut the front door, what is going on here?

I was feeling like someone was urinating on my back and telling me it was just raining. I guess I better do some fact checking.

The thing is, for me at least, what happened in 1998 is more important than the coward Mike McQueery walked in, saw something (he claims) and just walked away, as bad as that is.

So, who's bad?

MM is the biggest COWARD I've ever heard of...and that's saying alot. What kind of person would just walk away? No one with a soul. No WAY! Mike McQueary is a COWARD! Don't let anyone tell you differently.

Mike's family will be here to tell us that we're wrong about this situation and that Mike is being uncruelly victimized, but they are wrong. Ask them to explain how Mike WALKED away from a child in danger? How Mike just went home leaving the poor child to be victimized. Didn't happen. No way. MM is an effing LIAR!

He did? Shit, I missed it. I thought he dropped off the face of the earth.

Edit: Ok, I see what he said yesterday and I stand corrected. I sure wish I knew what the hell is going on, though.

Some people on here are acting like a spoiled 3 year old that wants a lollipop before dinner. "I want it now" or I'm going to cry. Lubrano will see this thing thru. Relax and learn to patience.
It's been way too long and no tangible progress. No policy changes. Joe would have changed players to shake things up. But here we are stuck with the same group that is completely out gunned, out manned and unable to bring about real reforms. Their hearts are in the right place but they have no chance at being successful.

So what's your plan?
New group of players, new tactics, better strategy. When PS4RS endeavored to hand select alum board members they should have also added deliverables and term limits to that equation. That way we could measure effectiveness and reassess who we vote for instead of being told these people deserve more time - be patient. But instead we have a system where the incumbents pander to PS4RS and they are automatically selected for another term. No challenges allowed

Can't expect to have achieved a lot of change - but you should expect righteous words, proposals and stands (at the least)

STRATEGY or the PLAYERS (or both).

Gotta' improve on at least or the other......that should be a no-brainer

[BTW - addressed a lot of the fundamentals in a post to Zeno in another theead]

Realistically, they have no chance at being successful due to the way the old guard rigged the system. That wouldn't change no matter who was elected. The stances on principle (or lack thereof) are fair complaints IMO.

We are apparently in lock down mode now with the A9 not speaking much until 'after the 17th'. That scares me because the only thing on the 17th is the Paterno anniversary as coach. If they have sold out to Lubert for a fleeting 2 minute halftime tribute to Paterno as coach then I'll be upset. There are much bigger issues to deal with.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until the 18th and I certainly hope for the best but I'm having serious doubts now.

You understand that the alumni trustees represent less than 1/3 of the board, right?
How does replacing them change that math?

I agree. I will not be satisfied with some Paterno tribute.
The Board needs to formally repudiate the Freeh Report.
They should also switch sides and join Paterno against the NCAA.

Who the F is talking about Math?

Good grief

What exactly do you expect the minority block to do when the majority block will not cooperate.

You people are blaming the wrong trustees.

If you are unhappy about the lack of progress you need to be calling (1) Governor Wolfs office and (2) your PA representatives.

There is no point in blaming the minority members. It is stupid.

Those would be nice........but neither of those issues mean squat (ok, maybe a hair more than "squat"......but not much) wrt Responsible Governance - - - which is kinda' what sitting on a governance board is SUPPOSED to be about :)

Oh good Lord

You wanna' call Wolf and Corman and "complain" about the A9 dropping the ball?

How many times does it all have to be spelled out for you sycophants? Check the post from earlier today "To Zeno..."

Though I kinda' doubt you'd engage long enough

More likely, you'll continue to bounce the goalposts around like a pogo stick :)

So, who's bad?

Were Mike and Schiano close friends and spoke frequently? The reason that I ask: given the incident in 2001, Schiano was either Defensive Coordinator at University of Miami or embarking on his career as Head Coach at Rutgers. So, unless Mike spoke with Greg regularly, I don't understand why Greg would be "in the loop" so to speak.

I don't think Scrap denied being told about the incident by Mike. He said that when he was told about it, it had already been reported to the school administration. I think he also said that HE never witnessed any unusual behavior by JS.

Not just "had been reported to administration"....

I think - and JimmyW would know for sure - that Bradley said that he "never heard of it" until the GRAND JURY (and all that stuff) was going on.

ie, 6,7, 8 years "after the fact"

At least that is as I can best recall from his statements

Going off the top of my head, I simply don't recall whether or not anyone (MM?) claimed to have told him prior to that.
Might be the case, but if so, I can't locate exactly "when/where" in my brain
Again, I'm sure JimmyW would know......or maybe Dukie or ChiTown

How about Schiano? Where does he factor?

Don't sell it short......maybe Ira is gonna' bring a brick to the "wall rebuild". :)

Now, something like THAT would be more than worth the 34-0 and the litany of "fiduciary fails"

If he does bring a brick, hopefully someone else will pick it up, and use both it and another one, and give Lubby the "how do you get your camel across the desert" treatment.

No. You call them and complain about how the OTHER Trustees who THEY have appointed are voting.

Are you seriously this thick?
