Looks like we got a transfer punter....

No idea how he'll perform at the next level, but it sure looks like a fantastic get for Franklin... kid redshirts in '19 and has 2 to play... and big numbers to get excited about. [Again, this is another level, so hang time is as important as leg strength.]
This. He redshirts this year and is primed to step in next year when Blake graduates. I know they were looking all summer for a high school punter to offer, but I’d rather them go this route with a kid they really like than reach for a high school punter they’re lukewarm on.

I am glad to see positive news on the special teams. Now if we can just have some improvement on the field it might produce another win or two.

Agree but "this level" should be no big deal for his transition. catch the ball and punt it. The only thing I can think of is the additional pressure of doing it in front of 110,000 fans and making sure he can get it off before the rush comes in to block the punt.

Yes, it5's the 110,000 screamers that is an issue. And hang time, of course, is more an issue now as the returners are far more talented and generally quicker/faster.

good point on hang time

The big thing is, no scholarship was used (yet) and you have a player of this sort waiting in the wings. With the transfer portal, numbers don't seem to be an issue anytime soon, but still...

Do the 110,000 screamers increase or decrease hang time? That’s a lot of hot air, so I say increase.

Just a reminder Jordan Stout who's handling KOs only this year is also a punter and he's on scholarship. I agreethough with your point. That being said can never have enough competition to make players better.

He's a 100 meter regional champ in GA and finished 10th at the state meet his senior year. He won't need much hang time ;)
