Marstellar looks like a shell of himself....

Maybe the kid is just burned out and has other concerns in his life. Nobody has any idea what is going on inside his head regarding school, relationships, living arrangements ( ever try to cut weight when living with guys who don't ? )

He would not be the first kid to have peaked in high school and he won't be the last. Hope it all works out as in I hope he gets what he wants out of this experience and decisions he is making.

Chance needs to get out of Stillwater! Has anything positive occurred since he arrived? He needs to get back to Pa and start over. It isn't working. He tried it, for whatever reason, and it's time to cut bait. It may never work but get out of Stillwater.

Or to Iowa....we have a slot at 165 that he can compete for

I know we have a lot on here that are very protective of Chance, but I would guess that Tognetti's a little more wired in on what's going on out at OK State than those of us here at BWI. From everything I've heard from someone that knows the Smith family personally, I would say he's a lot more wired in. All just hearsay, but a lot has been out there. The transition from HS to college has been difficult from the start. But there is a lot of time left for him to get multiple things figured out. Hopefully, it works out because he's got a lot of talent.

Of course, I'm going to get reamed for the above here, as I'm sticking up for Tognetti, lol.
Dice, how could you back that Assclown? All he does is come over talking cr#p, he brings nothing to the board. He is like ISIS, lurking around, waiting for us to show some sign of weakness and then strikes (Gulibon). I have loss all respect of you, where is that petition that was going around to ban that Assclown from this board?

Regardless of what else transpires in this thread, the popularization of the word "Assclown" is a positive in my book. The more it's used, the better.

That seems fair. If I recall, his situation back home was not all sweetness and light....something about a long period of time with bad relationship with his parents, and was stressed out about the whole recruiting process, too. Maybe Ok. State is not the best spot for him?

My freshman year I went to an NAIA school in Nebraska first day someone asked if I wanted some "pop" I just looked at them with a face of confusion and had to ask what the **** were they talking about of course me being from New York sometimes I would get those same reactions back its amazing the different ways we communicate and pronounce things around the country Another thing that kinda made me stick out was I was told at the opens that I was wrong for pronouncing it tornament instead of ternament

You see, I feel the same way about "Douchebag"...was a huge word in the 80's went away and came back in the 2000s in large part to the show Rescue Me. Tommy Gavin used it every five minutes. Assclown is cool as well.

I believe the first utterance of "assclown" was by actor David Herman (Michael Bolton) in Office Space.

Ok, back on topic. I'm wondering if something else isn't right at Ok State. Smith pulled in two of the very top HS recruits in the last few years and so far a lot of people are disappointed. Is his way of running the program just a really bad fit for some guys or is it something else? As a competitor, Smith is one of my all time favorites. In fact I think a strong case can be made that he is the best US wrestler ever. But I'm starting to wonder if there are some deficiencies in the way he tries to develop promising talent. Mike - any comments? (again, no trash talk intended. I'm asking an honest question)

While waiting for Mike...
John has 5 NC's under his belt, the last being 2006. He has earned his great reputation as coach. 4 of his 5 NC's were in consecutive years (2003-2006), but since then, the OSU team has gone; 5th, 5th, 16th, 6th, 4th, 6th, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th. It's such a high-variable accomplishment, winning a National Championship; talent, coaching, peaking at the right time, luck, injuries, outside distractions, team chemistry, and more. Not sure what an insider would say about OSU, but I really doubt John is doing much differently than in his NC years.

Probably wont see Chance this weekend and the down low shirt will be removed. Smith is making the right decisions, is a great coach, teacher, and man and will push all in for March.

I agree about John from the last two posters, couldn't of said it better. Every year he always have someone running for a NC. Hasn't lost it and will be there for at least another 4 to 5 years.
